Namra didn't piece everything together until later. Even then she was careful of her words as it was still a suspicion until Nayeon herself slipped. She only saw Nayeon getting zombie blood on the handkerchief but not her wiping it on Gyeongsu because she was at the back. You are watching from an audience pov, you saw both actions. Namra didn't.
The whole time she was suppressing the virus from dominating. She is still human, different from Gwinam and Eunji. And the virus is triggered by emotions, thats why she was always at the back trying to stay calm, its very human Namra. Because the virus cells dominating also means the urge to eat becomes stronger.
And didn't help others? She was always the one in front to warn others about the zombies, esp. the bombing and about the rain, smell and lightning thing. Not to mention she was literally choked, kicked, dragged and thrown by Gwinam, who she was able to throw off the building giving them time to escape. If you count all that, she helped/saved the other multiples times while also struggling/fighting the urge to eat them the whole time.
She didn't know about the abilities yet. You saw the explaination by the science teacher and military doctor, she didn't. She literally had a breakdown. But at the ending, she was able to use/control it better. One of the best/if not the best character development. You're free not to like her. But there's a reason why people do.
The sergeant? His story is there to show why SK have mandatory military service. The politicians are also there to show how they really are. Getting rescued first, wanting special treatment, taking advantage of situation, not wanting responsibilities, etc. And whether intentional or not, the assemblywoman being a female sent a message. Basically how the decisions of the adults can affect the kids. Both are realistic/relatable.
And this isn't the only one here in mdl with negative reviews as the top voted. Many of my latest kdrama watch are the same. But the ratings' been rising, more people are enjoying it.
So many useless deaths, like On Jo's father (I still don't know where the 'sacrificing' part came, he could've…
Onjo's dad was there to save her. Going with them after being bitten will defeat that.
Gwinam is a zombie who can think and immortal. Decapitating or having no body is probably the only way to properly kill him. And material for S2.
The commander commited suicide because of the burden/guilt. Even though he was shown the entire time as this cold commander who had to make those decisions, at the end of the day he is human. He left his 2nd in command in-charge, went to the assembly woman to ask forgiveness to people of Hyosan, recorded himself taking responsibility/blame for his decision (protect his men) and called his wife for the last time.
The teacher probably felt responsible as the (only) adult that wasn't even able to resolve the conflict. After losing one student, she didn't wanna lose another one. But choosing 1 kid over the majority 9 was.. yeah.
The food situation.. at least some water would've made sense than the tiny chocolate bar. But maybe its the adrenaline or being young/healthy.
Thank you for agreeing! Most of the ML in historical drama doesn't take anymore wives unless it is forced. But…
Yep its law/politics esp. with royalties, thats why I said unless fl is the favorite cause that'd mean ml won't visit other courtyards. I too tend to avoid harem dramas unless its not the main focus of the plot. Thanks for the article~
Agree with most, while at some degree with the others. 1. Only if ml is content with fl and won't take anymore wives. But if fl is addition to the harem, its too much drama, unless she is the favored one. 3. While I agree most 2fls will never get ml's attention, I disagree on bullying. Historical 2fls are experts not just at bullying but disposing, since they are usually of higher status. Just offending them can result to harsh punishments to appease the offended noble and her family. The punishment often extends to fl's family too. At least in modern times there's a limit since the law is much better. 7. Those endings, esp. if it fits the story, are more memorable (trauma or not lol) than the many happily ever afters. Extra. Yes, esp. when they refer to something and there's deeper meaning behind it. It's poetic and romantic. And add the costumes (and setting) definitely sets the mood.
As someone who enjoys historical dramas, this was a good read. Probably most interesting that I've read here.
Never have I seen so many negative comments on a drama that actually was pretty good. Not saying that its perfect…
None of the mains are disliked (LJW's been cleared of his scandal), most knetz were complaining about the story, they couldn't connect with it, while others compared it to a super popular drama. It's highest rating was the pilot (6%) and never reached double digit expected for a weekend drama. The drama it replaced achieved double digits and the drama that replaced it already reached double digits by 6th ep.
The drama had the potential to be extremely good and heartbreaking at the same time, but such opportunity was wasted.
The writers wanted me to think ml and fl had a strong love spanning all those years, but nope, its 2fl and 3ml. Their relationship, love and bond throughout the different lifetimes were the best. No wonder their parallel scene (w/ ml) in the fields was voted the best scene in the whole drama. The best performance was also by the 2ml. He made the drama interesting when it became draggy (should've expected from The Guest writers). The cinematography was good, but other than that, I wonder where the big budget went. This is my type of genre so I had high hopes, but it did not meet expectations.
Overall, this was not the original and unpredictable story I hope it'd be. It started well, dragged in the middle, with an underwhelming ending.
Watched the eps with the twins and the teams are perfect. Yunbok with GS and Hongdo with CS and ObGyne reminded me of wakanda forever and richardson out. lol
"but for me" Exactly. It's different for everyone. Viewers feel/relate/connect to different characters. He/she didn't say the other deaths were deserved or weren't sad. But the only one that made him/her cry was Joonyoung's.
As this drama is about WG and ZLS, who want ZLS to be overshadowed by a popular actor who will be her love interest?…
It's good to see her working with veterans in the industry, esp. this one where their story is the main focus. I saw the interview of the actor who played LLY's father and his words is just different from younger ones.

onjo - alive, human/scratched
namra - alive, immune/half zombie
cheongsan - audience is supposed to think he didn't survive, bitten
Going with them after getting bitten will defeat that.

Hoping for the og cast. LFG!

I felt more emotions with Joonyoung's "Let's go home" and Woojin's "Keep doing archery" than everyone else's deaths combined.
NK is North Korea.
But yeah, SK is on another level.
