8/20 and I like how the ml is not an invincible fighter. He's already a scholar and physician (plus he's nice) so if he was as good as commander Yoon it would be too perfect. As for fl, I agree with ml, she's really cool. At the same time she finally showed affection to those close to her, her own people. She didn't have to attend to court lady Kim's hair or stay by 3ml's side until he woke up, but she did. I know court lady Kim is loyal, I just hope 3ml isn't a bad guy. If he really is the assassin during the hunt and the one behind the killings, I really hope he's not saving fl for last.
The pace is just right. It would be strange for ml to instantly fall in love with fl just because she looked familiar. From the bickering to admiring, going through life and death together to catching feelings, then realizing and to possibly confirming (asking for a hug) is just the right progression.
My fave scene is definitely fl talking back to the king like 'I told you so' and used that to her advantage. It was so satisfying because I felt bad for fl before when she looked like a liar and an idiot because the guard and the maids all lied to save their own asses.
Lastly, I'm actually really looking forward to fl x 3fl and to their possible wedding. And still waiting for that upbeat ost, hope they release it this week.
But is it though? This drama is not just a romantic comedy but so much more, especially about looking past the…
Regardless of the interview, it was you who assumed "fluffy romance with no depth" despite not having read the manga. So idk why you're explaining all that to me.
I was looking forward to this, but why the triangle when it didn't exist in the manga. Her character was never jealous and mean. So the drama was really serious with the "love rival" in her bio.
This was dark, but I kinda understand every side. The joseon commander, the jurchens and fl. But out of the three, I can't sympathize with fl the most. Involving the innocent for the faults of a few doesn't sit well with me. Other than what the abuser got, which was well deserved, the ending was rather underwhelming.
Overall, an okay side story. Or maybe my expectations were just high after Kingdom.
I've seen the latest reuters in different versions, angles and lengths, and no wonder people wanted a drama of them together just from that one scene alone (TLB). I find them cute before, but this, the chemistry is undeniable despite it being night time. And its good to see them talking and laughing when it was taken at 2am.
Also, this page is always pleasant to visit. WL fans here are the nicest I've encountered. Looking forward to fun interactions once this airs.
Finally, the non-existent climax in S1 is here. Fast paced with good cinematography but the ending is unreasonable and out of character. Despite that, still a better season ender than S1.
I would've rated this higher if all 12 eps were one complete season. Overall, though not scary, still a good zombie thriller.
Are you easily scared? For me this is not scary at all.
Sweet Home actually has more gore and psychological stuff imo. And just like Sweet Home, this has physical monsters/zombies but no paranormal/supernatural stuff. So if you're fine with Sweet Home, then you'll be okay with this.
A power struggle in a zombie epidemic. It's a good thing I watched this after S2 was released, because that ending is frustrating. I knew what I was getting into with a netflix/western style series but they could've ended it better while still teasing for the next season.
I would've rated this higher if not for that non-existent climax. Overall, though not scary, still a good zombie thriller.
Hey, Is the 2FL selfish and annoying? IMO, it's one of the things that really bother me in dramas and I try to…
Yes the 2fl is selfish. She is the typical pampered noble. I also tend to avoid annoying 2fls but this drama is worth it. And for now (6/20) eps mainly focus on fl and establishing characters, the lovelines are barely starting so 2fl doesn't have much screentime yet (not that annoying so far). So no worries on giving the drama a try.
I feel the same way!!! I have never fully "bought" the girl playing boy trope until this one. To the point where…
Yes, at the same time I like how the drama doesn't pretend like she's a perfect male. They acknowledge that the prince is feminine (that scene with the uncle). Because in most crossdressing dramas, everyone seems blind and accepts fl as a male when the action, voice and body is obviously of a girl and literally has a face full of makeup.
Here we can see Hwi naturally developed manly gestures but she can't help but be feminine. It fits to the narrative that no matter how hard she tries, she can't hide her feminine qualities that would eventually lead to suspicions and finally to being discovered/revealed. And PEB here understood the assignment.
Finally able to finish this one. The first half was hilarious, while the second half was chaos. But the main cp's love, trust and teamwork through the ups and downs was good to see instead of misunderstandings/breakups. Definitely no 2nd lead syndrome here, but fl and 2ml's chemistry is undeniable. RH and his fans were also nice to LS so I wouldn't mind seeing them again in another drama. Not sure if its because they had to cut it from 36 to 30 or if its the writing/directing itself but the pacing of the last batch of eps was strange and felt lacking. The bad guys getting off easy was also unsatisfying. But I guess that's how it is since it's a light romcom. Even the reveal of the whole conspiracy was laid back.
When it comes to fl, LS is natural in this role but as the lead a lot of people directed criticisms at her. I liked her statement though. "Because everyone thinks CQQ is a good character, so roles similar to CQQ will come to me. I will not be troubled, instead I feel happy, because that's the recognition of CQQ." She is so positive and mature for such a young age. She's only 22 and if there's a right time for her to play such roles, it's now.
Overall, it's no CQQ but still an entertaining lighthearted drama. Looking forward to Ah-Qi and Ah-Yin as bffs in Han dynasty next year.
6/20 and I have nothing but praise for PEB. I've seen quite the amount of crossdressing dramas and 99% of the time it's just a female in male style, but PEB is that 1%. From the stance, voice, expressions, down to the mannerisms, she perfectly embodies the role. When it comes to the love interests, other than the selfish 2fl, everyone is likable so far. So can the prince keep 3fl as consort, then the ml, 2ml and 3ml as reverse harem. lol
Anyways, I'm glad PEB accepted this challenging role. It's really good to have her back in a historical drama. Looking forward to the next episodes and to that "HwiHyun running away" ost. Hope they release it soon.
As a horror enthusiast, I usually avoid gore because it doesn't work as scare tactic for me. But here, it's part of the story so its tolerable. Halfway through I kept thinking who I disliked more, the brother or the sister. But at least the brother was useful, the sister was just a waste of food and resources. On the other hand, my two fave characters didn't make it. One by saving others, but I didn't expect anything less from him. The other I was hoping would survive instead of those bystanders but I guess its more realistic. Healthy and opportunistic people will tend to survive. The cgi was okay, though it could've been better in some parts. Lastly, it felt like a lot happened but at the same time it didn't go anywhere.
Overall, not really scary but still a good suspense/watch this spooky season.
To all bl fans that are here to check this, do note that this is not an online series like many bls from other countries.
This drama aired on national television during primetime in a deeply Catholic country where abortion and divorce are illegal (the only country in the world other than Vatican). The church/priests involve themselves and comments on every issue. Even going as far as encouraging followers to do protests on something they disagree with. So restrictions were inevitable.
This drama is actually a first of it's kind and the network is known for daring and trying unconventional dramas that've never been made before.
Congratulations Princess Leyan for the international recognition. She is such a charming character with good development both as an individual and with her partner. Have seen 3/5 of the winners and they were all good in their respective dramas.
