Behind Your Smile Episode 16

"You also have compelling reasons right? Can you all not be this excessive? First you stab someone, then you say that you didn't really mean to stab her! You're all so pathetic. You are all just forced to hurt others." - Xin Yu
Xin Yu has truly grown up. I love the dialogue and realities of this drama. She confronts Yi Ting and boy does she let him have it. He needs to realize the damaged he's wrecked. He's ruined her faith and hope in family, love, and friendship. Though Su Zhongwen should help restore some of that. He was straightforward with her and eventually told her the truth leaving the matter into her hands.
The reality is that Xin Yu is analyzing every moment when she thought she was with these people. She will probably never be able to trust like she did before. There will always be doubts and the waiting for someone to betray her. That's the most heartbreaking thing.
Did anyone else find it odd that her mom said she had grown up and that she was worried as her daughter never suffered. Maybe not big losses. I was nervous the Tourette's Syndrome was dropped, but it did make an appearance after one of her face offs.
While Xin Yu didn't think her full game ahead, she definitely had the start of a great plan. Yi Ting sill can't give up his revenge. All I can hope for is that Qian Ren will be okay.
"Xin Yu, I won't let anyone hurt you. Because only I can hurt you."- Yi Ting
I'm just as torn as Xin Yu. That line besides you can't help but feel for Yi Ting. It's because we know all the angles, motivations, and sides. As a viewer I feel sympathy for both Xin Yu and Yi Ting. However, I don't like some of his actions and moves towards Xin Yu. I feel like the strong point would be for Xin Yu to leave him, but my heart wants them to save each other.
Qian Ren turned into a spy fast. Even though he knows how much finding out about Xiao Yue hurt. (Talk about symbolism as Xiao Yue lays in the ruins of her robbed apartment she shared with Xin Yu!) In the end he knew to some extant and thought it was all right. While the farm people warming up to Xin Yu was moving, I wanted her to escape from all those who lied.
That ending is terrifying and I hope things don't take a tragic twist. I like the idea of Yi Ting and Xin Yu teaming up to bring Tang down. Because boy does he need to. I also like the idea of Lin Man not getting off. The proof will destroy them both, and that's how it should be.

Oh, and I have a comment for last episode when the doctor was all like "I've never seen a woman in so much pain before." Um, how about every day living. Childbirth. I doubt that Seung Nyang was the first infected arrow wound he's seen on a woman. Woman suffer just as much or more, after all woman experience everything a man can and things they can't. Goodness. That really ticked me off.
Also, what is with making the villains laugh so cheesey? Even the Emperor's bride to be has some serious laugh issues.
So this episode packs one heck of a punch. We see why things happen, why the Emperor betrays everyone. But we're left with the frustration that we know and yet the other cast members don't. El Temur is one heck of an evil foe!
This episode really revved up my emotions. I'm angry and so ticked! I feel just as helpless as Seung Nyang. Vengeance! Blood! I'm even ticked at the Emperor and want his blood. (Sorry my beloved Ji Chang Wook).
Oh, fair warning you will want the next episode right after this cliffhanger! Dang nabbit, had to be that guy who finds out. Creepy sniffer.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon Episode 4

The hoodie girl! I know that's how they're paths met prior, but I didn't notice the red hoodie was Bong Soon until this episode. I have a feeling everyone is connected. Oh, well.
Oh, oh! The whole The Bodyguard reference with the Whitney Houston song was perfection! I laughed so hard. >_< Not to mention Bong Soon's dad pulling out all his hidden money. The fractured toe that healed super fast. Bong Soon was totally into the gang wanting to make her their boss, she loved the hero worship! This episode just got me laughing.
The movie and dance club was too awesome. Though if she's that out of control when she's not drunk I'm pretty sure that the dance pole wouldn't have been the only causality when she's plastered. (Though I question crying at the super hero movies? I mean she has a secret identity to hide (that she can't keep), but not much in common with them otherwise.) Min Hyeok watching her dance and have a good time was great. I love that he didn't care what she said while drunk. His only response is that the morning after when she was acting all innocent about it was that she was cute, sexy, and such a "cutie patootie"! Min Hyeok's open interest for her is awesome! I love it! Though I wish he'd quit with the gay joke.
To be honest the writing for Strong Woman Do Bong is all over the place. There are so many plot things going on. Boong Soon parents both seem to have love interests. he love triangle of Bong Soon, Min Hyeok, and Good Du. Then the love triangle of Gook Du, Gook Du's girlfriend, and Bong Soon's brother. The weird kidnapping/murders, the person out to get Min Hyeok, Min Hyeok inheriting his dad's shady business, the development of the neighborhood, the gang that wants to get rid of or recruit Bong Soon, and the youngster gang wanting her to be their boss. That's just the in your face stuff. Despite it all I can't help, but be entertained. This is one of those dramas that is insane and I know there are flaws in the writing, but I can't help it. Park Bo Young (playing Bong Soon) is just too irresistible in comedy roles.
So will I be continuing this drama? You bet! I've gotten over my high expectations. Oh well, I'll enjoy the crazy fun.

Totsuzen Desu ga, Ashita Kekkon Shimasu Episode 6

Akito is still a smooth operator working on her brother. The brother is clearly on his side. Why not he's offering her marriage.
This was a fun and cute episode per usual. It was nice seeing Ryu and Asuka getting to know each other. On a radom note I'm surprised how clean this drama still is and the one kiss in this episode was a quick peck. Apparently this manga is supposed to be smut. With them living together I thought there might be hints of "adult" relations going on. Yet it's very clean. That's okay as I like the story revolving more on the characters.

Behind Your Smile Episode 3

From the previews Xin Yu's runaway may not be sticking. Though I admire her for wanting to keep Xiao Yue safe.
There's still hope for a Womance as Xiao Yue realizes she really cares for Xin Yu. Even willing to confront Yi Ting.
I get that people are angry. However, you don't accuse the next available person. Wouldn't reality be that if someone did all that using and tossing their daughter away wouldn't be too hard?
That said I'm sorry for Xin Yu. Clearly her mother has done some dirty things. I want to have hope that she didn't.
Oh, and I know Yi Ting and Xin Yu have chemistry and Yi Ting slays it with those sexy smirks. However, Qian Ren (Lee Sean!) has serious chemistry with her too. Until he was suddenly "repelled" by her. The whole caring thing was cute.
I also thing that Yi Ting realizes he might be terrorizing Qian Ni too much. He might just truly send her off her rocker. After all she did do something he didn't even plan.
I love the way the story is weaving the web Yi Ting as woven around Xin Yu. Scary! Stay strong Xin Yu!
This drama really could turn into something epic.

I really want them to be more open. I'm sure a crash will come (should come with things going like this.)
Also, how cold of Li Shu and Feng Yue to basically up front say that because she's just an assistant she should rise or do something with it. And that whatever she decides Feng Teng has to approve. Not to mention that they, especially his sister, said she'd never approve of Shan Shan in the end because she's a mere assistant. How horrible. I get China is really big on status and stuff, but I thought at last Feng Yue understood that status may not matter in love. That's why Feng Teng likes Shan Shan.
It's a shock to see them so cold, and the reality that they couldn't realte fully. Li Shu realized the pressure, but still looked down on Shan Shan for creating the issue by being a mere assistant. At first I thought it was a test, but they're to privileged.
How horrible it is that everyone tells Shan Shan she's worthless and that only her status as the Big Boss's girlfriend defines her.

So firstly the advice Liu Liu gives is wrong. Sure he's filthy rich and Shan Shan is a normal girl. However, the rules of a "normal poor people" couple applies to rich and poor girl couple. You need to be able to go to him and ask what's going on. Communication is a must. Good grief! Just because he's rich doesn't make Shan Shan unworthy. I am so tired of everyone saying this.
Zheng Qi's advice to Feng Teng to not tell Shan Shan about everything that happened goes back to the root of their Valentine's tension. It also brings up the issue of trust and discrimination against women. Woman aren't innately jealous and distrustful. By Feng Teng not telling Shan Shan up front what happened he's showing that he doesn't trust her enough to act and think rationally. So if he's thinking that and doesn't trust her, what else doesn't he trust her with? If you want some one to act a certain way, then give them a chance to prove it with their reaction. You'll never know if someone says yes if you don't ask. So give Shan Shan a chance to actually respond. I hate that he's so quite.
His reason is because he heard it was her first Valentine's Day as a couple so I didn't want to inform her that he was unable to celebrate. No. What was better was for her to think up horrible ideas and come to the conclusion that he was getting rid of her.
On the plus side I'm super happy that Li Shu's awkward confession happened. She's a sensible woman who can move on. Zheng Qui has playboy skills and should be able to woo her over. Next time they're making out she will have different name on her tongue! Fighting!

Because Zheng Qi and Li Shu have some serious chemistry! Even though she said the wrong name. She is competitive and she wants what she can't have. However, she doesn't realize that she totally wants Zheng Qi.
I really like this episode. Though the mysterious Xiao Wei and the office gossip were a tad annoying. (Though I know the reality of office gossip.)
I like how Feng Teng is making the transition to boyfriend. Sweet and simple gestures. I also like how they're both being upfront with one another. Shan Shan admitting that she forgot about Li Shu's grief and was jealous of her. Feng Teng confirming that Shan Shan is all he sees. (Unless they go down a very stupid path with that bookmark confession. Which I don't think counts! How passive aggressive.)
No word on what Liu Liu is really going to do about her bad romance! Dump him before you're trapped.
Now that Feng Teng and Shan Shan are an item I like that they're finally becoming more developed. It helps seeing behind Feng Teng's icy demeanor.
The most moving episode was that Li Shu was truly waiting for Feng Yu to share her grief with. Sometimes there is only one person that can give you solace.

Feng Teng is a distant guy, but it's great to see where he warms up for Shan Shan.
Li Shu's loss is sad and I was very nervous after she moves in with Feng Teng. However, I think the writer is handling it in a way that Zheng Qi will get to win her over. It broke my heart when he was coming out with the blanket and soup to find Feng Teng already comforting her.
I do like that Feng Teng is loyal. If this was another drama he'd be totally obsessed with Li Shu and leave his budding relationship with Shan Shan in the dust. Then misunderstanding would ensue. I like that while he's there for Li Shu, he knows who his girlfriend is.
The girl talk was interesting between both of her friends. I hope Liu Liu can escape before she gets stuck with that scum.

Maybe this will be the turning point of the show for me. Because—BOOM—suddenly he was warm and sunny. Which had bothered me early when he was conversing and interacting with Li Shu. I guess he was afraid that he needed to 100% know that Shan Shan was in. So he liked her when she was silly, but the New Years fireworks sealed it. Hmmm.
Oh, and there's kissing. It's not the best ever, but it's way better than most dramas ever offer. Considering Shan Shan actually mildly participates and isn't totally shy/ashamed afterwards. This leads me to believe the kisses will stay tolerable, or—dare I hope—passionate?
Look like everyone knows about Li Shu's true feelings for Feng Teng. Even Feng Teng knows and that is a turn in the right direction for me!
This could be the turning point I've been dying for! >_< Finally. Now excuse me while I go and find out how Shan Shan is going to answer her aunt about having a boyfriend or not. ^_-

There's so many girls after Feng Teng now, and I still feel like this show isn't going anywhere. Even after it's official that he is wooing her and that they've kissed! Stupid freeze kiss.
There are funny moments, but I keep hoping things will pick up.
Oh, and that horrible seaweed jacket Feng Teng wore to the party? Eew. Wardrobe department fail!

Not to mention at this point the leads feel distant from each other and from viewers. It's episode 9, I really feel like they should be more developed. More progress. The time they're together feels cold, and it's brief. Leaving little to know room for development. Big Boss is a cold and aloof male lead. He really needs to start be developed more.
I get that they have 33 episodes to play with, but I need some development!!
Shan Shan is seriously entering the realm of willful ignorance. All that's left is for someone to put on a hula skirt, do a dig, smack her over the head, and say, "Big Boss is pursuing you, and YOU like him!"
Fun moments, but the show is starting to really drag. The only thing being developed well is the product placement.

Poor ladder boy has been forgotten. Just a slight side note on the way to the true romance.
The cartoons are back and not quite so annoying. Why is it Naïve for Shan Shan to be aware of money? Personally I agree that you don't have to have to spend money to have fun. The little things in life are what make it awesome. That's why Feng Teng likes her.
While another fun episode it's still light and fluffy. I'm having fun, though there really isn't much to this drama at this point. Besides Shan Shan's cousin and roommate most of the other female cast is the enemy to some extant. I hope things expand more in Shan Shan's world view. I'll still be happy with a cute and single minded romance.

Oh! The magic. The important people are figuring out that Ya Nuo and Zi Feng are a couple. While confused I love that they accept it. It's a very moving thing. It's always touched my heart when the male lead falls in love with the girl thinking she's a man. However, they never let the other people think they're a gay couple. They don't become an item until after the gender truth reveal! So I have to really thank the writers of Bromance.
They may take all the hijinks and tropes jamming them in, but they're going the distance! This is definitely turning into one of my most favorite gender benders. I may not be rating all the episodes super high, but I'm really enjoying them. Bromance has a beautiful romances and really develops the characters. Thank you.
Side note: I miss Ya Nuo's cousin!!!!!!! I want her back.

Age of Youth Episode 10

This one definitely focuses on Yoon Jin Myeong. Of course the episode still develoeps what's happening with the other girls, this is her epiosde. I'm a little disappointed that the past probably will never be answered. What happened to her brother and her past. It's harsh and the real impact is her current life right now and how it's unfolding. This epiosde felt dangerous and the end was moving.
That doesn't stop it from being a slower episode at times. There's a lot of reflection here. I'm also nervous about where Park Jae Wan and Yoon Jin Myeong will end up. As she was basically fulfilling their wish and saying goodbye.
While I really want to see Ye Eun move on to a great guy, it is realistic that she's having a hard time moving on. She's fulfilling her life without a guy right now. That's perfectly acceptable and healthy. After all Ye Eun was in love, it will take some time to get over Doo Yeong. Props to her for putting up a front. Fake it til you make it.
This episode really highlights how much the girls have come together. I love seeing how much they care for one another.
Oh, and I loved Eun Jae's mom. Ye Eun's right. It's romantic and I am totally jealous!
Can't believe that their are only 2 episodes left. I'm really nervous that it won't end in a satisfactory (AKA closure) way. Either fans are clamoring for a second season because it's so good, or because it's kind of none ender.
