Ngl this was a whole mess but the side characters carried??

I first watched the explanation of this drama and I really loved the storyโ™ฅ๏ธ. Only now I got the chance to watch the actual series๐Ÿคง. Fr, I almost hit that drop button so fast during the first few episodes. The direction was doing the most with that over-the-top, cartoonish anime style, and the main coupleโ€™s acting was pure, unfiltered cringe.

Look, I didnโ€™t even hate the characters, I just hated how the directors forced them to act. The constant screaming, the unhinged eye-bulging, and the endless poop jokes were giving severe secondhand embarrassment. It felt so forced it was exhausting.

Even though it was painful at first, the actual plot was interesting enough to keep me locked in๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿป. And honestly? As we got closer to the finale, the cringe actually settled down and it became totally bearable.
The supporting cast completely saved this show from being a total flop:

The main girl and her three brothers are total chaos but their bond is top tier. They bicker 24/7 but the fierce protectiveness and sibling energy gave the show its actual emotional heart.

The representation here was honestly so refreshing for a K-drama. Instead of treating his identity as a joke or a cheap plot device, the show handled his struggles, his coming-out journey, and his & Ho Dol's romance with so much respect, sincerity, and depth. It was easily one of the most compelling and heartwarming parts of the whole show.

Not just Won Seok's story, but also the way the gay misunderstandings between the main leads was handled. Seo Yeon wasn't the "eww you're gay๐Ÿคข?" type of girl. Even tho it was a misunderstanding, she wanted them to have a good life without any struggle due to their sexuality๐Ÿ˜ญ.

Their subplots were actually well-written and full of the genuine warmth that the main couple was lacking.

If you can survive the initial jump-scare of forced comedy, itโ€™s worth the watch just for the family dynamics and the side pieces. A flawed mess, but the side stories ate.

Sorry for my essay type review, as I'm a unemployed fresher with no assignments to write or no jobs, I can only use my essay writing here๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜ญ
