It’s a common practice in China due to accents. They’re supposed to speak Mandarin but a lot of actors come from other regions with dialects and accents that are very different from Beijing. So a lot of dramas ate dubbed. Wether they’re modern or costume. Some actors may keep their voices even if the others are all dubbed. It really depends. It’s very easy to spot too. In age of awakeninfg Chen feiyu dubs himself but most of the others are dubbed by other actors.
