The synopsis wrong. Lee sun is Sukjong but he lived his youth in the 1600's.
Those are good points and I've read all of korean history myself so I wouldn't say I need help but thanks for being nice.
Sukjong's historical father has the same birthname as Lee Sun's father in the drama(They're both called Lee Yeon). I had doubts but that was what convinced me. I looked for Sado's historical birthname but didn't find anything, we do however know Yeongjo's name and it's Lee Geum. How do you know Sado's historical birthname btw?
Also since like you said the real Sado was the second son and his brother died a young adult. It wouldn't make sense here to make all that stress about making an heir in this drama because the main character is the first born. I have only seen one episode, but I know that Sukjong's father had no concubines. In the pilot of this drama is seemed like they were hiding the fact that Lee Sun came from someone else than the queen despite the fact that concubinage was costumary.. Both Sukjong and Sado are recorded as sons of queens in history tho.
Another reason is Yeongjo was one of the wisest and strongest Joseon kings, while Hyeonjong(Sukjong's father) is recorded to be weakwilled, just like the king in the drama. This argument isn't as strong because we don't know how much they're twisting history, but usually writers keep fundamental things like these in tact.
Everything except the timeline leads me to believe this is Sukjong's story, not Sado's. (Might also be a personal wish because we all know how it ends with him welp) Either way there's good reason to be confused.
This show is obviously linked to the recent impeachment of Park Geun-Hye. Sad the only female president had to…
They're usually not direct responses, and sfd isn't either. Anyway I don't understand how you could not have found it, it's in the very inactive hong gil dong tag on tumblr, and on the top of bodashiri's page.. https://bodashiri.tumblr.com/
She gets development, if it's major you'd have to decide for yourself. She goes from being oblivious to her father to joining Seung-yoo in his rebellion, because she knows it's right.
This drama is like a mesh of all the other historicals I've seen. To some that might feel like getting the best of both/all worlds, but it just felt halfhearted to me. It went in so many different directions I never understood the point. Jin Seyeon is not horrible, but also not the best actress. She had a lot more chemistry with the king than the main lead.
They cut two episodes because people stopped watching. Does that mean they changed some plotpoints or did they simply cut scenes? I hope there is some closure to the story..
For those who think Mori will change sides I think not because he's the one leading the troops in the flash forward. Unless he's a double agent ofc, but I sorta think's he'll walk his own path soon and stop following others..
just caught up with episode 21 and 22 they over did it with the fucking violence i woke up at 5 am and decided…
She's a very good actress though..I think they'll keep her around until the end. She might be the most formidable foe. When Amogae killed her husband I was hoping he'd kill her as well, because I knew she was a lot more dangerous than him.
I feel like GRxGD is more of a siblingship tbh she's like a little sister.. the flashback in the recent episode…
There isn't really difference between oraeboni and oppa except the formality though.. most sageuk couples speak formally so. I never said I had issue with that.
I feel like GRxGD is more of a siblingship tbh she's like a little sister.. the flashback in the recent episode solidified that for me. I think they're cute together, but I like ships in which two partners are equal. GR follows him everywhere, is impressed by everything he does, "oraeboni" the strawberry scene..I'm not against the ship but I hoped they'd make her more adultlike in behavior.
Maybe it's the asian culture that is different? idk, but I never had this issue with other dramas. I do like some scenes though, and "Seobang".
I guess GR may really become a widow seeking revenge against the king now..just like the description. I just hope she finds out GD is alive before getting into the palace, or else it'd be hard getting out.
But if she acts on her revenge, I hope she's not completely incompetent.

she has very impressive sfd analysises
Bodashiri on tumblr made an analysis on the episode mentioning it
So many people complain female kleads are annoying, but I don't see what she did wrong here?
It's not bad and fairly entertaining though 7/10
goodhearted royals there
