It's just that Chinese government is strict so they need to scrutinize every detail of the dramas for them to be aired, and with the numerous amount of dramas produced from each company since China has numerous amount of population, the list become long and long so it took so many years to air.
Worse if the actor had a scandal, the dramas would expected to never air in this lifetime... π
