At this point, I'm finishing this out of pure spite. It’s only 10 episodes, I’m already on episode 7 (or 8) quitting now would make all my previous suffering meaningless. I’ve come too far. This is war 😠🗡

Romance is currently secondary, as other things are happening. The leads had crushes on each other in secondary school but never managed to confess their feelings, and now they are reconnecting. There are obvious unresolved feelings, but I think it will take some time before they are properly addressed

So even if someone is kind, generous to others (like Miji clearly is), they can’t see that because their perception is filtered through a lens of self doubt and guilt, not necessarily on what’s actually true. And when that becomes the baseline of self-worth, it shapes everyhing and it really shows how powerful and sometimes distorted self-perception can be 🙁

It is one of my favourite shows, and it is one of those that could span multiple seasons. I'm still baffled why they are not making another season 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes, because people often only show the good parts of their lives, we tend to assume that what we see (especially on social media) is their entire reality. We forget that behind the smiles and beautiful moments, there may be struggles we're not seeing at all.

her depression wasn't just because of them. Yes, their actions added weight to what she was already carrying, but depression rarely has a single cause. It builds over time. And they were all just teenagers, each trapped in their own pain, without the emotional tools to truly see or support one another. Just as they didn’t notice how much she was struggling, she also failed to see their pain until others pointed it out. They were all hurting, all hiding it in different ways

I feel it wouldn't be realistic if he didn't know 🤔. I feel the twin's mother, being always trapped in her own problems, would be someone who would miss the signs because she is stressed by other things in her life and is not paying enough 'emotional' attention

Honestly, she’s not doing a particularly good job of hiding it 😅Except for the moments when she’s completely silent, she doesn’t resemble MR at all (her expressions, body language etc) If he had already suspected in school that MR was impersonating her sister (as we see his mother did, and possibly he did too by the end), then it wouldn’t take much for him to recognise MJ now considering they did this before. as well she’s not slipping into MR’s identity she’s just moving through MR’s life while behaving like herself, despite her efforts. That alone is probably enough for anyone paying close attention (especially someone emotionally invested) to recognise her. but than again he has his own problems so he might miss it 🤷🏼‍♀️ even if it doesn't make a lot of sense considering MJ behaviour as MR

To truly understand the full picture, we need to explore the perspectives of others as well, what they felt, what they feared, and what they believed they were doing right. Most people don’t act out of pure malice they act from a place of perceived necessity, confusion, or emotional survival. That doesn’t erase the fact that mistakes were made (some of them deeply hurtful) but it helps us understand why they were made. Empathy doesn’t mean excusing everything, but it does mean recognising that pain often coexists on all sides of a story.Without seeing how others experienced those same moments we’re left with an emotional truth that may be valid, but still only part of a larger, more complex reality

I'm really enjoying the show so far, but I find it somewhat triggering on a personal level. I have people close to me who live with depression and/or anxiety, and as much as I love them, it’s not easy navigating life beside someone who is internally struggling. What resonates with me most is the portrayal of the twins who, despite being very different on the outside, are strikingly similar on the inside.They both carry deep emotional wounds, but rather than process their pain, they suppress it. Every time something painful or traumatic happens, they never fully go through the emotional steps that are crucial for healing: acknowledging the hurt, allowing themselves to feel it fully without shame, understanding the role they played (if any), and then,most importantly, offering themselves forgiveness and compassion. That self-forgiveness is key, because without it, true healing can’t take place. Instead, they bypass these steps. They keep functioning, surviving, appearing fine on the outside, but inside, their pain accumulates. They carry guilt they shouldn’t carry, they feel responsible for things they couldn’t control, and they never allow themselves to grieve openly or with support. It becomes a silent form of self-punishment. they may speak as if the world has wronged them, but inside, they are locked in a cycle of self-blame and emotional paralysis. I can’t help but wonder if there’s a genetic component to depression in their case, not just environmental factors. MR grew up sick, her entire identity shaped by frailty and limitation. MJ was emotionally overlooked and carried the invisible weight of being the "healthy one." Losing their father only deepened their unprocessed grief another wound they never allowed themselves to confront. And over time, it all builds up: more trauma, more silence, more bottling up until eventually it spills over. after her injury MJ isolated herself for three years. And as an adult MR reached a point where she can no longer cope. The show captures something painfully accurate about what happens when people never learn how to truly feel, process, and release emotional pain. Without support or self-awareness, the hurt doesn’t go awayit just grows quieter, deeper, and harder to escape. What saddens me is how familiar this feels. I wish more people knew that it’s okay to ask for help and that therapy isn’t a sign of weakness, but a courageous act of self-care. Unfortunately, in many cultures, there’s still a stigma around mental health. People are taught to endure quietly, to “be strong,” to pretend everything is fine. But strength isn't about silence. It’s about facing your pain, speaking it aloud, and asking for support when you need it. I hope that message comes through more and more both in stories like this, and in real life

I'm currently losing my battle with episode 2

Someone on this thread compared her to Emma from Jane Austen, and honestly? Spot on. She's a pampered, naive girl who's slowly figuring things out, annoying at times, yes, but at least there's a trajectory. She's supposed to grow. He, on the other hand, is stuck in this outdated "I know what's best for you" nonsense. That tired "I'm doing this for her own good" trope while playing the tragic hero in his head is the emotional equivalent of mansplaining. If you don't trust someone with the truth, especially considering what's been going on since episode 17, you don't see them as an equal. It's the go-to when writers want drama but don't know how to write genuine conflict. I know this is just a simple romcom, but they could at least try 🥲

So far (I've only watched 18 episodes), she is, but it's not her fault, as she does come from a sheltered, pampered, privileged background. I wouldn't say she is annoying, per se, but she is a product of her environment, and she is a good person in the end. I find the ml less likeable than her, he is written inconsistently, and it doesn't help that I'm now in this misunderstanding/hiding-the-truth-from-you trope that I hate

The only thing I found likeable so far was the first infected girl, she was quite good in her zombie rage

The only season 2 I would ever watch would be with unrelated characters to season 1, as that show had a perfect ending and I wouldn't want them to ruin it. I stumbled on this one on Viki and went to check it out because... I don't know... maybe because I just finished The Prisoner of Beauty and don't know what to watch, need to move on

Maybe I’m mixing her up with others, but all I really remember is “gege, gege, gege” on an endless loop of torment. She’s already hit rock bottom on the annoying scale and she’s camping there. So really, the only way is up. Fingers crossed she matures and becomes borderline bearable. I know she’s supposed to be an immature child....... but still. I just can’t🫣
