To be quite honest, I think you're unlikely to stop people from making comments you don't like. You might be better off making the comments you want to see about the storytelling or artistic decisions.

The drama is still pretty new; if you like it, then talk about it online and recommend it to people and let it grow from word of mouth. In this world of media (especially sapphic / GL / lesbian media), we have to fight a little to draw attention to our favourite projects. That said though, I believe if it keeps on going the way it's going, it'll be just fine.

I completely agree; I don't abide by cheating, I don't like to see it in my romance stories – I immediately put it down if I ever come across it, and this just wasn't it. And I appreciate you bringing up the specifically cultural element of it as well. It's been really nice to talk to you! 💜 I can't say that a lot of the women I know with stories like this are entirely "happy", because I think it's a hard life to go against your family and society in the name of the person you choose to love – and I think life would always be better with support, but one I know has been very happily and healthily married for 30+ years, with two adult children and a puppy, and they're still as in love as if it were the first day. They're like a romance drama come to life.

Yeah, I know a few women in my life, friends and family, who've been in similar situations to the women in this drama (in relationships with manipulative, emotionally and / or physically abusive men, only to find their life partner very soon after), and the FL reminds me a lot of those people. I also know people who never walked away, and their choice to keep abusive, horrible and patriarchal men in their lives (worse than the FL's father in this) has had a significantly negative impact on everybody else they loved, including mine. People don't realise the strength or fortitude it takes to walk away from a bad relationship sometimes, especially when it's intertwined with your family's ethics regarding your right to choose, and I think that's why I'm ultra protective over her as a character.

They blame "feminism", they say you're applying double standards when there's no proof, they say there's no excuse for "cheating", even when it didn't happen. It's maddening, but not surprising.
