I have to say it is refreshing to see a drama set in the Tang dynasty. I have watched too many dramas set in the Song and Qing dynasties last year. The Tang female hairstyles are great. I look forward to seeing the clothing and different hair designs with each episode. I don’t know how they carried that weight of hair and decorations all day.
The younger brothers of Chumo are spoiled children in front of their parents and become smooth like silk when they find a woman they like. They learned well from elder brother! Lol
Less than 10 episodes left and its hard to continue watching. The storyline is getting boring in the way it presents the major events in the lives of the characters. The cryptic English translations (iQIYI) makes it worse.
I have mixed feelings about this one. I came for the actors who are all pros and all very good. Plus, sci-fi is my first love in novels and that genre drove my career choices. But, I don’t love this. I watched until the end because of the actors. The storyline is convoluted. I can ignore the action scenes where no one can shoot straight and the heroes are bullet proof. But, the time hopscotch forward and backwards are hard to overlook. They were overused and became confusing. The ending is a guess to where in time the protagonists landed. Not satisfying. 7.5/10
He has almost 20 years in the entertainment industry with many more to go! I’m looking forward to seeing his future projects. Now, to get an updated picture because he has filled out and grown up.
Ep. 45 Can they make Fang Xiao Yu more pathetic at the wedding? He wore a cheap looking red jacket to the wedding and he looked like he cried all night. I was hoping he found a girlfriend.
This would be a 10/10 if Zhang Han did this drama alone and unscripted! His performance was great even though he has too much experience doing these CEO roles. But, he does them well. The fashion design comes in second. I learned something new about Chinese embroidery. The weakest links were the FL’s character and script that dragged out rivals way too long. I skipped through a lot of scenes from the side characters to make it to the end. 7.5/10
It’s boring. It started well and slowed down to a few snippets of serious tragic scenes, then, filled in with boring relationships. I’m halfway through on episode 13 and running out of reasons to keep watching. I would have stopped already if it wasn’t for Roy Chiu.
Mo Fei’s character is getting dumber. She bet her career of working with Mingxuan that she can find the corporate spy in 3 days. She wants to go easy on the spy who almost put the company into bankruptcy meaning hundreds if not thousands would lose their jobs. Yet, she only thinks of going soft on her alleged friend even after watching the witch call her dumb in the video. Even Xue Ling wants mercy for the spy who went to work for the rival company after swearing she would testify against them! I thought she was a bit smarter. Don’t get me started on the fingerprint access getting a person straight into confidential corporate files. They should lose all their files with that weak IT security!I had a friend who would change his fingerprint phone access to a toe print to keep his siblings from accessing his phone while he slept! I’m glad we are near the end.
This tumor has stolen the spotlight. Either cure it or quickly end her misery. I hope they don’t slowly shut down body functions to drive up ratings! The cute romance and fashion design phases are pushed to the background.
You are not giving me much hope for the episodes in the 30s.
Broadcasters get more advertising income with each episode. It is in their best interest to stack episodes. Unfortunately, the quality of the drama typically goes down because of the fillers.
This is one of my most anticipated dramas. I hope it releases in 2021. The photos are surreal. The costumes look beautiful. The actors are experienced. The storyline is complex. I have dropped a large number of dramas the last 6 months. I’m hoping this will be a keeper.
It’s a 5 year old drama that feels like a 10 year old drama. The script and directing are the weakest. The story drags out simple revenge conflicts from the beginning to the end. The conflicts are not exciting. The romance triangles are lackluster and are more of a string of pitiful unrequited loves linked together. I fast forwarded through the last 20 episodes to find the plot closures and conflict resolutions. I regret not quitting at episode 20. No rewatch value. 7/10
