Can’t even blame him for stepping back from all of it. He was at a well deserved new peak in his career and couldn’t enjoy it for a hot month before he was kicked off the pedestal by the sticky ex and quickly trampled by the the same people who were throwing money and praises the week before. He should have been enjoying the accolades the last few months instead dodging reporters, defending his position and being traumatized while trying to separate friends from foes. He should write a book in his down time titling it No More Mister Nice Guy. Then, come back with a vengeance. Oppa, hit them where it hurts the most… in the bank account! lol
That was so long ago I hardly remember. I found this online in an article: “ it was racist, a “disaster,” to even cast a Korean woman as a character who, as some people put it, ended up as the pet, the slave, or maybe even the lover of an evil White man. That the first time a Korean body is represented in the Wizarding World, it should not be in a degraded status as a doomed young woman. That this played into stereotypes of Asian women as subservient or fetishized.” I didn’t watch any of those movies. So, I don’t know how it turned out.
I binge watched 10 episodes and I like it. The ML is impressive looking like a third generation heir. His confidence level is at maximum level. The FL is a good match and the chemistry is very good. Her character’s glass ankles need reinforcement! But, her constant and cliche slips, trips and falls are opportunities for another princess carry which the main lead does so well!
It provided some funny and some touching scenes around the main couple. But, not enough to keep a viewer’s interest for 30 long episodes. The love polygon had too many love interests that took too long for them to go away in the storyline. So, it dragged. 7.5/10
I knew I would be drawn in after the first episode. I took a 3 week break at episode 10 before starting again because the relationship and family issues hit home and I was running out of tears! I finished it and it exceeded my expectations. I have seen too many dramas plateau in the middle and cliff dive at the end. This one kept a high quality of acting, storyline and production throughout. They showed both the good and bad of each character which is more realistic. I felt some empathy towards some of the “bad” guys. But, my favorites where the characters played by the lead couple with a standing ovation to Park In Hwan who played the elderly father-in-law. 9/10
The leads are the perfect couple for this drama that adds a bit extra beyond the standard modern romance love quartet. They were adorable. The secondary coupes were adorable. There was enough substance in the storyline and more than enough skinship scenes to convince viewers of the chemistry between the couples. There are very touching and relatable moments of youths struggling to find a valued place in society while getting trampled by life. The 24 episodes did not feel long. This is worth watching a few times. 8.5/10
It’s a light youth drama that is similar to other high school dramas with a group of friends supporting each other through the last years of high school. This one is a bit better because of the acting, beautiful seaside setting, no evil family members and forgiveness is part of the storyline. It got slow near the end. But, worth watching once. 8/10
In all seriousness, I hope KSH can continue on with his career. He finally got the trifecta of a good script, good cast and good crew. He and his ex have to live with their decisions back then, and now. I will never know who told the truth and was it the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I prefer celebrities keep their dirty laundry out of the public and solve them like big boys and girls. They should deal with the consequences if they break the law. I also learned not to follow the public scandals of actors from Kim Hyun Joong‘s 3 year nightmare of a scandal from 2015 to 2018! I have PTSD from it! Lol
