Just a movie about sweet loving villagers who provide u with food n send u back home if u r lost, such nice people lol. Watched it on YouTube n people wrote wonderful comments about this movie i learned alot. The movie is a whole package about horror ,psychology n survival with amazing music. A must watch for all even if u r not a movie lover.
Slow pace is not an issue with this movie, cinematography n ambience were beautiful, the slow moments n lack of dialogues reminded me of maborosi but i dint connect with characters n feel their emotions.
Screenwriter n director, they both are two of my favorites so i was expecting a good movie n i wasn't at all disappointed. Acting, interaction between characters, that weirdness that old jmovies used to have , ambience n plot made me connect to this movie so i loved it.
Seems like sakie is the one who killed him n misumi brought him out but it cud be possible that Sakie alone is a murderer. Misumi said he killed him then ran to get gasoline from the factory , there's no way he will run to factory wearing the blooded clothes with blood all over his face without anyone's notice . There's also a possibility of pre planned murder, that he brought gasoline with himself. Maybe he thought if he said it wasn't intentional he would get away with death penalty but sakie is 100% involved in the murder. She is the canary bird which got freedom, maybe it was all Misumi n he set the stage alone to confuse the lawyer n to get death penalty in the end, high possibility for that. If misumi wanted wanted to take blame for sakie then why did he accuse wife n why say it wasn't intentional then again he took the wallet to solidify his death sentence, maybe he knew so much about law bcz it was his second crime. In his first crime also he kept changing statements where he had no one to save, so i won't say he did that to get the death sentence n then lawyer in the end said "are u a tool"? Which indicates lawyer has doubts himself. In conclusion i would say it's a tough nut to crack lol but i found it interesting, maybe things r more clear on second watch but i hardly rewatch anything. I like how people interpreted in comments below. That's what is good about movie, no way it was boring just bcz it's slow.

The movie is slow paced like most of the Jmovies it's not uncommon,the build up n mystery is really good that will give u a lot of scope to interpret n think. Worth watching if u r patient enough to go through endless but meaningful conversation.
Bleak, dark n intense plot with flawed characters. This isn't a regular samurai movie. Gore was there but action scenes were bad with shaky camera which i dnt like. Yu Aoi looks cute in this. Overall a good movie.
Lol synopsis is correct.But actually she does a lot of things instead of just sitting around.Totally relevant with the phenomenon going on today that's hikikomori. Enjoyable sweet little film.Many ways to interpret the story, lucky to find it on YouTube.
Loved the third story the best. M glad i dint drop it at first story bcz it was boring. Specialty of Jmovies is that they get better n better u just need to be patient enough to enjoy.
