Hibiki Akui is a 15-year-old girl who struggles with her emotions. She has violent tendencies, and those around her find it difficult to understand her. She lives for reading novels and loves writing, so she joins the literary club, where she meets Rinka, a fellow writer who becomes both a friend and a rival. One day, to confirm her worth as a writer, she submits her manuscript "The Fairy Tale Garden" to the literary magazine “Mokuren”. The novel is an entry for the magazine's "Rookie of the Year Award". However, it does not satisfy the conditions of the award and so is tossed into the office trash bin. Editor Fumi Hanai happens to see the novel in the trash can and takes an interest in it. (spoiler free review)
It was a good movie. They took an amazing manga, took important scenes here and there, and made a movie. The story is good, nothing to say. The directing is intereting, and suits the atmosphere of the script, and the characters.

The casting is on point, and the actors are AMAZING. For a first role, Hirate Yurina is crazy good, but the other high-schoolers didn't lose anyway, so I was really surprised !
Kitamura Yugira (the TV-writer), Nomaguchi Tohru (the photographer), Yuya Yagira & Oguri Shun were really good.
Especially Kitamura, & Oguri. I was really enjoying their performences. Of course, Yagira is always perfect, but those two, their characters were especially interesting.

The only disapointing point is Kitagawa Keiko. I was really disapointed by her performance. I kow there's a few people that don't really like her acting, but I'm not one of those, so I was surprised, and really disapointed. She was bland, annoying, boring.
I know her character isn't the most interesting, so it's difficult. But it's a problem as an actor if you don't have half the screen presence of actors that appears for a few minutes in the movie when you're one of the main characters, or of actors that have less than a year of acting and you have 15 years of experience.

But let's be honest : they should have made a drama, not a movie. The story is rushed, a lot of important characters were just erased, and they changed the some of the relationships between the main characters .
That's comprehensible, because they didn't have time, but... disapointing anyway, and it wouldn't have happened if they had made a drama.

Finally, I'll just end with : if you liked this movie even a little, please read the manga, you won't be disapointed. Like a lot of people say in this movie "it's a masterpiece"

I watched Hibiki because I missed watching Kitagawa Keiko and saw that the cast are very interesting.

All in all, it’s a very good and enjoyable movie with interesting storyline without a boring minute. The only thing that annoyed me was only the lack of explanation or background about Hibiki’s character. She’s not a normal character at all, but we don’t get any explanation at all. Are we supposed to just accept that she’s a kind of tortured artist with a skewed personality or something? For one, I really was curious about her family. But that aside, you won’t regret watching this movie. The pacing and the plot was good

Now for the actors, this movie was really full of eye candies. Everyone here was beautiful and easy on the eye. The acting was superb. I love the young actors who played Hibiki and Rika, and also it was a nice surprise to see Itagaki Mizuki. I love seeing Kitagawa Keiko in a role where her pretty face isn’t mentioned at all. I don’t think Oguri Shun’s character blend perfectly here, but it’s like a nice little touch.

I didn’t really notice the music, they were more like background music, but they were good enough to build atmosphere needed.

Once again, it’ll be perfect if only they give us backstory of Hibiki’s, and I’m sure it would be an interesting one. But maybe it’s just me :)
