i wish cdramas would finally give up on whitewashing their actors so much that you can barely see their noses anymore 😭😭 Chen Duling is an extremely gorgeous actress - there’s no need for all that makeup and those filters…

also, i can’t be the only one who finds it hilarious that the male lead is supposed to be a swordsman, yet he looks like he walked straight out of a beauty pageant 🥹 i have no problem with gorgeous-looking soldiers 😛 but realistically, he should be a bit more tanned and have more muscle. Zhou Yiran slayed those fighting scenes though! 😛😛

it’s crazy that so far only one episode has aired and the rating is almost 9!! i hope it stays the same or even increases later on 🙏🏻

one of my favorite things about this drama is its tone. unlike many other gmmtv dramas, it’s far from cringe, cheesy, or packed with forced fan service. here, we get actual characters who act like real people, not some idealized yaoi fantasy.

don’t get me wrong—we need cute dramas too. but the market is already overflowing with them, and it’s becoming harder and harder to create something fresh and memorable. that’s why it’s always nice to see other genres being explored within the world of bl. <33
