Beautiful watch, but I missed the moment Tanrak got attracted to Barth. When did it happen? They really could…
i believe it happened slowly. Tanrak might be demisexual, meaning he only develops sexual attraction after forming a strong emotional connection with someone. and thatās exactly what happened here, since they have been spending so much time together.
but there was always some distance between them. when they played the piano together, their shoulders brushed against each other, or their hands happened to touch, but those were brief moments. when he helped lift Barth up, though⦠that felt much more intimate.
that single moment was like the start of an avalanche or a fire. it begins with something small, but once it starts spreading, itās almost impossible to stop. after those first āsinfulā thoughts, Tanrak panicked and became hyper-aware of everything he was thinking and feeling about Barth. but that only made things worse. the more he tried to suppress those thoughts, the more they occupied his mind.
Oh please, let's not bring up Islam here, that "religion" of rapists, hypocrites, and criminals. Besides,…
just so you know, people of any religion are capable of committing atrocious crimes. iām not defending islam here, and i also donāt think this discussion about islam belongs in the comment section of this tv show, but itās wrong to stereotype an entire religion based on the actions of some of its followers.
there are certainly awful people who misuse religious teachings to justify their actions, but not every believer is like that. there are hundreds of millions of muslims around the world, all with different beliefs, values, and interpretations. if every muslim were a criminal, the world would be a living hell (but it is not).
this weekās episode was much more lighthearted than i expected, or at least the beginning of it was. it was nice to see Barthās playful side and his ability to make new friends. however, he is still the same person: an unbeliever who refuses to worship God. he has his own reasons for that, and whether he is right or wrong is ultimately up to the viewer to decide.
that said, spending so much time together is clearly influencing Tanrak. he is doing things he has never done before. i doubt that, before Barthās arrival, he had ever even been punished, and look at him now⦠he knows itās not right, but he simply canāt stay away from Barth. they fit together perfectly.
as we get closer to the end of the episode, things continue to take a darker turn and the atmosphere grows heavier. we learn that the house Tanrak used to live in was destroyed. that revelation deeply saddens him and lowers his guard. in that vulnerable state, it becomes much easier for Barth to get close to him.
even though Tanrak is presented as the perfect believer with unshakable faith, i do believe he has moments of doubt. and Barth is the spark that ignites that hidden uncertainty.
in the final minutes, we see Tanrak experiencing feelings he has likely never dealt with before ā lust. poor boy, he seems completely lost. he knows heās struggling with something that goes against everything he has been taught, yet he doesnāt know how to process it. i believe this is the first time he has ever felt this way, and that inner conflict is written all over his face.
the closing scene⦠wow. it sent chills down my spine. amazing work from both the actors and director aof šš» like, damn.
His youthful appearance doesn't bother me, but his lousy acting sure does.
bold of you to assume i would watch and waste 405 minutes of my life on a series i donāt like šš and itās honestly impressive that you took the time to do the math just to roast me lol.
i havenāt watched all the episodes, and iām not planning to. clearly, this series just isnāt for me. i was simply expressing my opinion here. as far as i know, this is the comment section of the drama, and i was curious to hear what other viewers thought about what i said, whether they agreed or disagreed. iām perfectly fine with both. yāknow, expressing an opinion is a liberty, right?
for me, he does resemble a child. not a 5-year-old, obviously, but someone whoās either just about to start puberty or at the very beginning of it. he has no facial hair, and his features are extremely soft and youthful. and no, thatās not a bad thing. not every man has to look like he just fought in ww2 or emerged from the woods after surviving on berries for six months š
but seeing someone with such a youthful appearance being forced onto a bed by someone much stronger and more mature looking⦠i donāt know, man. it just doesnāt sit right with me. thatās my personal reaction to it. if you enjoy it, then have fun. itās your time, and youāre free to spend it however you want.
also, regarding tlwli, yeah, he doesnāt exactly look like the most field-trained police officer out there. but honestly, most police officers look like average people. at least where iām from, they arenāt walking around looking like superman. but i can accept your opinion if you think heās not a convincing fit for the role.
that intro is HORRENDOUS. ethnical and environmental aspects aside, using ai just makes the show look cheap from…
how do you know itās ai? iām genuinely curious, because i didnāt notice it at all until someone else mentioned it in the comments earlier, and now you have too š
The age gap in the novel is four years. Cheng Yichen is academically gifted and attends the same school as Lu…
yeah, youāre totally right, the contrast between their appearances definitely adds to the discomfort. i guess some people enjoy that feeling a lot more than i ever will š itās just a bit too much for me, even though i generally like darker themes and morally grey characters.
He looks exactly like how he was portrayed in the novel
yeah, i totally understand that this is how heās supposed to look according to the novel. i have my own thoughts about it, but i donāt want to start a war with anyone, so iāll just keep them to myself. it does make me feel uncomfortable, though.
i get that this story is meant to be dark, and iām actually glad to see bls exploring darker, more toxic, and bolder themes. however, i find it really difficult to watch a very mature-looking man push a childlike-looking man against the bed and essentially force himself on him. thatās just a bit too much for me.
absolutely no hate to anyone who enjoys it, but it does make me wonder why the author chose to portray the characters this way. i understand what they were going for, but personally, itās not something i can look past.
thanks for the explanation btw! i appreciate itš„°
He looks exactly like how he was portrayed in the novel
i havenāt read the novel so I wasnāt aware of this. thanks!
however, when adapting something into a tv show they usually make some changes. if i were the director iād definitely reconsider this.
my issue isnāt that the actor looks youthful (good for him šš») but rather the hair and his characterās clothing. it all feels a bit too much together with his already youthful appearance if you understand what i mean. š„¹ it doesnāt help that the other male lead appears so masculine and mature. i really dislike seeing heteronormative features imposed on gay characters.
His youthful appearance doesn't bother me, but his lousy acting sure does.
itās strange. i saw your comment under another bl called the lie we lived in and you were harshly criticising the young appearance of the main lead⦠why doesnāt it bother you here?
same director as love in the big city but unfortunately not the same budgetā¦the actorsā performance is very…
love in the big city was a massive hit though. iām curious why this wasnāt approved on the same budget despite being directed by the same personā¦
i canāt be the only one concerned that Yichen literally looks like a child. š they should have casted someone more mature looking in my opinionā¦
this, coupled with the portrayal of such a toxic non-consensual relationship, is just too much for me. i love chinese bls and donāt mind some toxicity or flawed characters but this is simply too muchā¦
Lu Yuxiao is absolutely stunning! š her features are incredibly natural and unlike the plastic doll look of many other actresses. plus sheās a fantastic actress. she completely immerses herself in her characters no matter the role. šš»ā¤ļø
how serious is this injury? will he never be able to walk again?

poor Tanrak š
this is my interpretation :3
