I've seen a thread on twitter with some theory that this whole drama is one of Jin's/Hwan's (failed) time loops where he doesn't succeed in saving them and I feel SICK. I need them to be happy so bad ๐ญ
You can find them on Spotify. Breathe (+ instrumental version) by Chan and Take It All (+ instrumental) by JEMMA…
No problem. There is no official OST album (to answer your question more specifically) and I haven't seen any info about the instrumental compositions they played throughout the show. The actual songs that were used are the ones I mentioned tho.
okay, so I read the description and got nothing. Without spoilers, can someone who's been watching tell me what…
It's about a group of troubled boys who become friends and find comfort in each other. Some of them have mental issues and unhealed trauma, some are poor and victims of family abuse, some are victims of their families' expectations. Basically, they're all miserable but when they're together they feel happy. A lot of the drama is focused on that relationship between the 7 of them, but there is also a touch of mystery (regarding their parents) and fantasy (at one point time traveling happens). I hope that helps you. I didn't want to go into spoilers.
does anyone have a full playlist of the OST i mean piano songs etc or where to download the album?
You can find them on Spotify. Breathe (+ instrumental version) by Chan and Take It All (+ instrumental) by JEMMA are on their own profiles. Am I Wrong, The Truth Untold, Euphoria and Mikrokosmos are on BTS' profile. I'm not sure if some other songs were played in the last 4 eps, sorry ๐
I didn't understand the ending ,, so all their lives are ruined at the end ?? why ?
I haven't watched the ending yet, but I've seen spoilers and people say that Save Me webtoon can be seen as a continuation of the drama in a way (Hwan repeatedly trying to save all of them), but even that didn't give the final solution to the whole time traveling issue.
Next year BTS will celebrate 10th anniversary of HYYH (the era in which this story began) so I hope that we'll get more material ๐ค. Second season of this drama would be even better, but it hasn't been officially addressed yet. I remain hopeful tho :')
It has been said before, but the whole situation with the last 4 episodes really drives it home. Charging $100+ for 12 episodes is so diabolical. They could've put a more reasonable price and many people would've chosen to watch it legally ๐
Guys, help, so I've bought the episodes for almost $40 but why only 4 episodes? and that's 5-8, is it bug? no…
It's not a bug, they're selling them in 3 parts (1-4, 5-8,9-12) and each needs to be payed the same amount. It's a shameless money grab so if you can, you should watch it "illegally" (if you don't have that much money to spare, that is).
Hybe doesn't own Begins Youth, they just own BU storyline. The drama was co-produced by Hybe, and they were responsible…
Well yeah, but BTS don't act in this and I guess Hybe can't interfere in the distribution part(?). I don't really know how it all works, but the fact that Hybe hasn't even mentioned anything about this drama seems iffy. Who knows what's happening behind the closed doors.
To be honest, I'm just happy that we finally got it ๐ฅฒ
Netflix or Prime would have easily bought this seeing the vast audience but Nope ! HYBE what do you want ๐
Hybe doesn't own Begins Youth, they just own BU storyline. The drama was co-produced by Hybe, and they were responsible for budget, but since they're music production company, Chorokbaem Media is in charge of the drama production and they partnered with Fingerlabs for distribution. Fingerlabs created the Xclusive platform and Chorokbaem seems to have more control than Hybe when it comes to the drama.
Still, I do think Hybe could've done more about the promotion of it ๐
everyone, should I keep watching? Because the first two episodes were so boring for me.
First 2 episodes are more of an introduction (first 4 are slower) but episodes 5-8 are where the real drama/angst starts (struggles concerning mental health, poverty, abuse etc). I would recommend watching more, but if there's nothing that draws you in maybe it's just not for you.
Ah, I see. Someone already wrote about it partially so Iโll just add the part that relates to the titles of each episode. Only first 5 are titles of their songs as well.
1. Am I Wrong ? - the theme of this song is the corruption and the general upper class being deaf to the sufferings of others. You can see detailed analysis here (https://muish.wordpress.com/2016/10/23/bts-am-i-wrong-english-translation-and-ramblings/). It relates to the relationship between Hwan and Jeha and their families who are upper class and the rest of the boys.
2. Mama is J-Hope's (Hosu in Begins Youth) solo song. The lyrics aren't relatable to Hosu's situation because J-Hope dedicated that song to his mother who sacrificed a lot for him, but the title itself is relatable because Hosu's relationship to his mother is important for him as a character.
4. Anpanman - is a hero from the Japanese picture book and cartoon. "He's a red bean bread man and the worldโs weakest hero. He doesnโt have any superpowers like Batman or Superman, but is a kind hero who helps those in need and gives to hungry people pieces of his face, which is made out of red bean bread. If Batman and Superman are star heroes that can fly anywhere in a flash, Anpanman is a bourgeoisie hero who is always nearby and stays by your side for a long time." It's related to Jooan's wish to be a hero in the drama, I guess.
5. Mikrocosmos. Well, the lyrics can relate to the boys' relationship and what they mean to each other. Someone already posted a link to the song, but these lyrics especially relate to that specific episode. "You got me I dream while looking at you I got you Inside those pitch black nights The lights we saw in each other Were saying the same thing The starlight that shines more in the deepest night The starlight (o-oo-oo) that shines more in the deepest night" The starlight (o-oo-oo) that shines more the deeper the night gets
The actor who plays Min Cein posted a video on YT about Begins Youth. He said he'll answer questions about the drama/his character in the next video so if someone wants to ask/comment something here's the link: https://youtu.be/y8M7ypDh-DM?si=Z294qgkgu70SWBrG
But it's not really presenting BTS members, none of them is from a higher class or was. I still don't get it why…
It's BU (consisting of music videos, short films, notes/books, webtoon) in which every BTS member played one of the characters. These characters have some BTS members' characteristics, but the story is completely fictional.
BU started with HYYH era and I Need U, Run, Young Forever and Prologue MVs which are related to this story. It continued with Wings era (7 short Wings films, one for each boy, Japanese version of Blood Sweat and Tears MV) and Love Yourself era (in which we got Euphoria MV and 4 Highlight Reels). There's also BTS Universe Story 'Map of the Soul' video on YouTube.
This drama is based on the story from those videos + webtoon & notes which were published in the form of a book.
I have yet to see ep. 7 and 8, but arent opening scenes of each episode related to time loop/alternative reality?…
True, but I think (hope) the time travelling part will happen in connection to their personal problems. Maybe they'll try to change the root cause of everything (although I don't see how that fire incident fits into that lol).
Either way I think I'll be happy with this adaptation even if they change some parts. So far the flow has been really good and I doubt they'll mess everything up in the last few episodes, but I DO understand your concerns.
I just realized, the title of this drama is "Begins โ Youth" and the title of Ep 12 is "Begins โ Youth" with…
I have yet to see ep. 7 and 8, but arent opening scenes of each episode related to time loop/alternative reality? I don't see how they could make sense otherwise. I'm sure they won't completely cut out the integral part of the story (time loop).
