I like fantasy series. But I am sceptical to watch this show as it is BL romance. I have nothing against BL but…
If you're worried about 'explicit' BL scenes you don't have to worry, their love in this adaptation is pretty much platonic and it's beautifully portrayed. Give it a chance, you probably won't regret it :)
I was so worried that this would have a sad ending! I don't usually mind tragic endings but in this case I really couldn't imagine a good ending without the two of them being together and happy. But anyways, this drama was brilliant! Every aspect of it was done masterfully and I love it so much. 10/10
ive been putting this off for so long because ive watched like 1 c drama and hated it but im finally watching…
Because CGI is not the only thing people take into account when they rate dramas & people who give it high rating watch all 50 episodes. I personally can completely ignore bad CGI because everything else that I love about this drama (interesting story and effective storytelling, likable characters with great character developments, beautiful aesthetics, complex and well developed relationships between characters etc) completely outweighs those few negative points like big CGI 'monsters'.
I also understood it that way, or more like they could all fall if he doesn't let go of LWJ. His expression went from peaceful and accepting to panicked in a second after he saw JC's sword hitting the rock. He was ready to be killed by JC but not to let others go down with him. At least that's how I interpreted it.
So idk if i missed it but was it ever explained y wei wu xian got brought back through the ritual and who did…
Uhh, well, that was choppy. Hahah. When I watched for the first time I finished first two episodes and then skipped the whole flashback because I was so curious about what happens next, but after watching few after-flashback episodes I stopped and started from the beginning (I think I even watched donghua simultaneously). Anyways, it was a mess.
I mean, if you understand everything that happens and don't feel like rewatching that's okay. I don't exactly remember what happens in which episode of which version to be able to say what you missed. If you do decide to sometimes rewatch the show I would suggest watching this original version tho.

The shorter version skips many important parts and cuts some of my favorite scenes. Original version is much better for those who are watching for the first time. But to answer your questions since you already finished watching.
1. The one who brings Wei Wuxian back is Mo Xuanyu. He's the bastard son of Jin Guangshan who was thrown out of the Jin sect. He was later bullied by his maternal family, supposedly went mad & then decided to bring Wei Wuxian back to life (by sacrificing himself) to get revenge for him against his family and Jin Guangyao.
2. The one who was behind everything was Nie Huaisang. He found out that Jin Guangyao killed his older brother (Nie Mingjue), decided to get revenge and set everything in motion.
I would suggest watching the original version. 50 episodes is a lot but if you like the special edition you'll probably enjoy this one as well and everything will be much clearer.
No one knows lol. Some people love it, others perfer the old one & then there are some who want a different pic.…
I mean I'm definitely for it but not sure if they'll accept it so soon after the last change? And some do like the current one so maybe we should wait for a few more opinions. I don't wanna be responsible for a change that people dislike even more ┬┴┤_•) hahah.
I'm on ep. 13 and still not sure how I feel about this drama. I like the story so far but I find these female characters extremely annoying and for someone who's not supposed to have any emotions (or did I get that wrong?) XuanJi is acting exactly the opposite. But aside from that I like it and looking forward to see where the story goes.
I'll love doctor XZ and soldier XZ but this is the one I'm looking forward to the most. He looks so regal! From what I've read about the novel (I know they'll probably change a lot) the story is also to my taste. Can't wait!
I only watched one episode with Xiao Zhan since that's the only one that's subbed but from what I've seen I like the format of it. We learn more about the sport in question and about the Olympics & watching sports ambassadors interact with others is always fun if you're a fan. I wish I understood Chinese but since I don't I doubt I'll watch the rest.
One of the best shows I've ever watched! To be honest, it took me a whole month (maybe even more) to finish first 4 episodes 'cause for some reason I couldn't get into it, but then I binge-watched the rest in 3 days without any skipping or speeding up. I'm so glad I didn't drop it after those first few episodes.
That ending was so pointless?? I usually like tragedies but this didn't even make me sad, it was just annoying and unnecessary. Also, half of the time instead of feeling sorry for her I just found her annoying (together with most of the other characters).
They'll go back and forth. From what I remember she finds out his real identity in ep. 19? They're gonna have…
I can't really remember all the details but I think he didn't want to tell her because she would turn against the king if she knew, and at that point in time he was still loyal to him (they explain why later).
And yeah, Ji Chong is hot (!!) and also a really good character. While Lord Bo is the unreasonable and cruel one, Ji Chong later becomes her pillar of support. Personality wise he's probably one of the most likable characters I've ever watched.
Is Lord Bo going to be toxic and abusive towards Ma Zhai Xing during the whole series? And is this abusive and…
They'll go back and forth. From what I remember she finds out his real identity in ep. 19? They're gonna have some sweet moments after that but there'll be more misunderstandings later on and he'll be cruel again. In the last few episodes they'll work things out and those few episodes are really sweet. The reason for his cruelness does get explained but a lot of people still hate it so idk.
My rank on xz characters so farThe most outstanding and strong one still Wei Wuxian (The Untamed) And then Tang…
For me it's 1. Wei Wuxian, 2. Yan Bingyun (I need him in this role for 2nd season!!!), 3. Ji Chong, 4. Tang San, 5. Bei Tang Moran, 6. Zhang Xiaofan.
I don't think I'll get over WWX anytime soon. My favorite character before him was Loki from MCU and he'd been at the top of my list for 8 years but as soon as I discovered WWX Loki completely faded out of my mind. XZ really brought WWX to life.
Same! Historical dramas are my favorite and XZ looks gorgeous in those roles but I also just want him to choose whatever he likes and feels comfortable with. He's the only actor whose dramas/movies I'll watch no matter what they're about.
