I think most of my problems with getting invested with the show are how clunky it's shot. I loved the novel and I like the actors (although the AI face swap keeps throwing me off), but its just really hard to like the way these scenes are put together. I think I've been spoiled with some really good cinematography lately that this one looks cheap in comparison. And that's not to say cheap cinematography is bad - when there's a good story and everything else is good you can basically ignore it. But it's hard to in this case, especially because everything feels very rushed.

I am blushing the amount that JJ is flirting with her costars. She and ZLH especially kill me 🤭

I hope he continues to get really good roles. his historicals and modern ones are my favorite ❤️

Moonlit reunion is airing next week so the likelihood of another TXW drama airing at the same time or directly after is unlikely unfortunately 😭

I agree. I get wanting to speed through the training/boot camp part of the novel, but the episodes being this short, and only 36 episodes is making me nervous...

From ep 15 on, the story is great. But before that, it's basically just middle school / high school and both leads are too old and too mature to play highschoolers.

But literally, who is the costume director because they need all the awards.

Although the scene in ep 5 (just watched so I had to come back and give an update) where she was fiixng the body was actually really beautiful

Only on episode 5 right now but really annoyed with the way the director is cutting these shots. Keeps panning to something and you think is it visual, no too short to be visual. is it something important we will focus on, nope just shifts to the next scene. Is he going to build the tension, nope, he's just going to do just short of it so you almost have tension but it's trying to be funny and then it just falls flat. It's awkward and the cutting is so obvious it takes you out of the story. I hope it gets better. But right now it's a testament to how a director's poor directing can ruin a production that would otherwise be amazing.

So hyped for this!!!!

my two main regrets: 1. that the emperor wasn't brutally murdered, but go a redemption arc in the end. I sill hated him for everything he put ML through. 2. Li Shi Liu never came back after the reveal in ep 26. He was so attractive in that costume.
