ep 30. I completely forgot the MRQY was a doctor first. I was like, why isn't there a doctor giving medical advise, why is he doing it? and then I remembered that MRQY is a doctor! lol. nice to see that again!

And it absolutley is his place to tell MRQY. If he's acting like he's his brother, then he absolutely has a responsibility to tell him about his son. Why would it matter what RSS wants - she's making stupid decisions to. He should have said, you have X number of days to tell him or I will, and then told him. It should not be 7 years later that he finds out he has a kid, losing years with his son! I mean, how would you feel if your family hid the fact that you had a child out there?

He's literally pretending he's got a relationship with RSS. Telling MRQY that 7 years is a long time, people change, he saved her when she needed saving, acting like a father to the child. Like, he's trying to replace MRQY! No doubt the director's trying to give complexity to his decisions, but my opinion is that nothing he does is excusable. I absolutely agree about the intel on the childhood runaway thing. He's literally just saying that she may have saved MRQY as a kid and that's the reason your family died, when none of that is confirmed. Seems like another effort to make sure they are separated.

I saw... still hate him. nothing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING excuses LBZ not telling MRQY about his son. MRQY reactions are entirely proportional to what's being done to him (in fact I'd say he's underreacting). whatever LBZ motivations are, does not mean his actions are justifiable. He's effectively taking away all MRQY's choices and decisions. He's not actually helping MRQY at all but just making arbitrary dumb decisions because he thinks he's in charge of both families. Stupidity can be a crime too. And LBZ is stupid. And I honestly think he's being intentionally stupid so he can continue acting like he's in the right, his parents are good, and MRQY and RSS are the only problems.
I'm not even joking I had to take a minute to step back when LiBoze came to the room when MRQY found out about the child... I literally felt so much rage on MRQY behalf. #1 hater of LiBoze

Boze is my final evil boss because what do you mean they knew that the kids were switched at birth, but still didn't switch the kids back immediately because the parents didn't want to lose Boze, leaving Qingyi stuck in an abusive household even longer, at which point his adoptive father almost murdered him.
And his adoptive family hated him while his biological family (with the exception of Qingyu) hated him while loving Boze more.
And Boze has a literal framed photo of the Murong family with Qingyi cropped out.
And now Boze is literally stealing his child from him too. Knowing that SuSu is pregant with Qingyi's son, he should have told Qingyi immediately, but instead spends the next 6 years acting as if he's the boy's father.
IGAF about any reason he may have. This is straight up evil behavior. The willful ignorance about the abuse Qingyi went through with the Li family, or the condesencion about the Murong family should have been a clue.

i wanna know what exactly is bad about this drama coz im used to republic era dramas doing too much but the rating…
a lot of it is trolls. some is preconceived notions coming into the drama, people were expecting something slower or more serious while this is a melo. and some of it is a poor first impression with the ai intro (that has since been replaced) and some shoddy cgi (nothing worse than anything pre 2024 tbh, and there are definitely worse today).
Im sorry but the last scene of ep 23 where he sees her as he passes in the car while everyone around is waiving red flags is objectively hilarious. Can't get a clearer sign than that... and i am still hopeful for a HE.
