I noticed that most of the actors who I think have interesting faces over there (him, Ci Sha, Jiang Qiming) are always called "rugged" by the noisy majority of cnetz. they just prefer softer features, plus he has a natural aggressive sex appeal that comes across as too strong for their taste. And honestly people just like to pile on the hatred now, it's the internet's collective mental illness. he lost a lot of goodwill from cfandoms after The Double and Yu Zheng's continuous actions of stoking fan wars for hype so it's not surprising that he gets attacked. there was also a melon years ago when SWL sued Huanyu to get out of his contract, that Yu Zheng likes to spread bad rumors/negative publicity about his own artists so that they won't think about leaving him. I still remember the day WXY announced his first luxury endorsement (Chopard) and Yu Zheng decided it was a good idea to get the Perfect Match cast to flood weibo with unflattering bts pictures they took of WXY a few hours later. really, it's a dirty business.

just let them be. cnetz complained he was ugly in Scent of Time but he still got the most fan growth out of the cast because his performance won people over. book fans complained he wasn't suitable for Zhang Zhe because he looked too much like a villain but they were complaining his storyline was cut by the end. book fans also complained he wasn't beautiful enough/looked too righteous for Xiao Heng but then he went viral. believe in his acting skills lol. it's already friendlier in XHS because yesterday's clips had a few book fans changing their opinions.

it has a happy ending in the novel

it's not in their Q1 plans and iQiyi has a lot of idol dramas, including another one with XRH (and ZKY) that was finished first so it'll be weird if they suddenly decide to air this before that. also not sure if the Qin Wen controversy has died down enough that they'll want to go first and see if the cnetz have forgiven her yet.

script reviews have said it's just subtle hints in the first half and only given more focus in the last arc

oh whenever I post a schedule here without the 🍉, it's released by his official weibo accounts so it's like a confirmation but they usually don't put the specifics haha (like for Jan 19-22, it just says "joins the crew" but since all the melon owners have said it's Confession, that's what I wrote.)

most idol dramas are officially announced the day they start shooting, it's already confirmed in his itinerary anyway. if you're talking about Bao Hu, serious dramas are sometimes announced after wrap up, maybe we'll get one in the next few days.

filming for a bunch of actors, including WXY, supposedly wrapped up today (Jan 2), WQY and CWJ characters were not mentioned in the post so maybe they still have some scenes to shoot unless they finished earlier. UPDATE: seems like drama wrapped up ahead of schedule. congrats to the cast and crew!
