thank you youku for this magnificent piece of work. this is only one of the few dramas out there that i will remember even its supporting characters' performances. everybody did such an amazing job!!!! from Yuanbai, to Shuran, to wen ji and lu ji. meeen! they made this drama unforgettable. and the musical score, it was so well-done. the amazing score highlighted every scene that needed a particular emotional emphasis. and that made watching it even more beautiful. it was simply on-point. now that its over, im waiting for princess royal next.

ep35 is hands-down her best yet. she perfectly exemplified the vulnerabilities and weaknesses of a woman in her position in such a sticky situation. you can really see and feel her desperation, frustration, fear, and anxiety in that dialogue with Shen Yurong. Bravo to her!! i felt her emotions too while watching her on screen!

im so conflicted. who would've thought that my heart would grieve for Wanning for all the right reasons despite her wickedness?? episode 35, why are you so mean to me. my feminine emotions are in a mess rn.

i love the cinematography and color-grading. actually, that was the first thing i noticed apart from the bgm, which sounded weird on some parts.. nway, that's just me. . :) i haven't seen any previous adaptations so the first few eps are quite good. i hope the edits will be good. im waiting for mind-blowing camera movts and cool edits for the fight scenes. i really hope they will capture those parts so well.

i haven't really noticed these details till you mentioned it. as far as characterization goes, that particular scene, a mere 5seconds if i may say so, is irrevocably moving. it pretty much sums up what a father must feel after acknowledging all the cruelty his family has suffered under one woman. so sad.

oh my geee. i LOVE! the ost of S2! both beginning and ending. with the latter, i was just mesmerized. and thank you for the new actor of Yan Bingyun. i was also surprised to see wang churan here! waahh. amazing .

Jiang Yuanbai killed it! that scene in ep28 with jiang li just sums up everything i want to see in a father's face after years of being in the shadow of his mistress's wickedness. his painful expression of guilt, failure, despair, sorrow, anger, and everything else in between is just perfect. happy father's day to all fathers out there!

i have to pull an all-nighter to finish this and by the lord of thunder i swear, this is an omfg drama. the plot is soooo good. i couldn't think of anything to compare it to at the moment. tho, ive only watched a few cdramas, by far, it's one of the better written out there. i hope to see more dramas of this caliber in the future. and since im done with S1. i cannot imagine how S2 will end and will leave me wanting and waiting for more..... ok. S2 here i come!
