Theory: In the past, CEO Kang struggled and was not favoured by his father or siblings. But he cared about the company more than anyone, and actually valued what his father built, and ran the business with care and dedication. He also favoured his two older kids and let them get away with everything and covered up their crimes because he did not want to be like his father, but it backfired. However, his youngest, Kang Banggeul (FL), is like him, and actually cares about him and the company. He will slowly realise this in intern Junhyeon’s body, and realise he has not been favouring his good child over those two snakes and is repeating history.
That male twin is going to crack and switch sides at some point. He already seems unwilling and flabbergasted at times seeing the female twin’s overly cruel actions.
sure, "hating". So you really think that ML (older man) has a good personality that makes someone sympathize…
Do people not understand character growth and development anymore? Unlikeable characters can grow through experiences and become more humane and empathetic. Is this your first ever viewing of a fictional story?
Wow, that was an insanely good first episode! I hope they can keep up the momentum in the next episodes, looks like a fun and worthwhile watch.
This drama is reminding me of Seo Kangjoon’s drama “Are You Human Too?” where a sweet boy is suddenly thrown in place of a cruel chairman, with electric cars and similar family politics.
Hwang Junhyeon 😞💔 His story was so heartbreaking to watch. Sweet boy just wanted to play soccer. I’m interested to see how actor Son Hyunjoo plays him!
I’ve already seen Lee Junyoung in sassy and evil roles as well as comedy, so it’s going to be familiar, but he did really well in the emotional scenes.
Jeon Hyejin and Jin Goo (the twins actors) are so charismatic! The twins are so evil but the actors are so cool. I feel like we don’t see them enough, last I saw them was in “Not Others” and “The Auditors”. I’m happy I get to watch them in this drama.
Am I the only one ehm affected by the Cambodian businessman guy? The way he fought through getting a finger cut…
If you like him and want to watch another thriller, you can try Hide. He’s a very quiet but villainous bodyguard there. Though, if you didn’t watch Goldland due to disinterest, you probably won’t like Hide either.
do people get paid to comment hate comments ? I just don't understand how this drama has low ratings and how some…
I think a lot of times since we’re watching the show as viewers from an outsider perspective, we’re being told who’s good and who’s bad so we know who should be trusted, but the protagonist in the story doesn’t see it or know it. So it can be infuriating and we can say “Why don’t you trust him OMG he’s good!!” but how will the character know this? They’re not “watching those scenes”. For example we can see Woogi or Jinman being on her side, but what she sees is people saying things they may not mean, and they don’t have history with her as far as she knows so why would they help her? She trusted or tried to save Cha Yoojin and it backfired, so wouldn’t she be smart to be alert after?
So Han Su in Destroyed the tower didnt do anything basically? then what is the significant of that tower being…
Here’s what I understood/deduced:
Good stone towers are to honour spirits and make wishes. However this is an evil one with an evil spirit inside which makes spirits from the reservoir latch onto people who pile stones on, and protects the tower from being destroyed fully by killing whoever tries to break it. It is then rebuilt by new visitors who also get trapped.
The old lady is alive but trapped there too, as she doesn’t fight the spirits or try to leave. I think it’s a deal she made with the ghost; as long as people keep adding stones and letting evil spirits take them into the water, her possessed daughter can stay with her. So she tricks everyone to add stones/make wishes.
Unbelievable that she can escape the clutches of a powerful chairman and gang with just one fatality. Not only…
Cambodian gang didn’t help her, the car dealer guy did. Cambodian gang guy was inquiring about her to the bread shop man, which means he doesn’t know her and is tracking her because of the gold.
Cambodian businessman guy (who beat everyone in the forest and appeared in the end) actor is Kim Min (Hide, Rebound, The King’s Warden). Insta: rlaalls
Taejoo and Yeongbeom are so similar, these two issues are basically the same. They’re both aggressively righteous and confrontational when faced with wrongs. A person like Siyoung could never win over this type of person. It’s just his luck his nephew turned out like another uncle and not him.
Jung Moonsung (Gihwan actor) deserves some type of award for this role. That was a performance of a lifetime. Gihwan wasn’t loud, snippy, or intimidating, rather his microexpressions and calm, unsettlingly friendly, unbothered, unrepenting demeanor made him terrifying.
He did have sibling-like affection for her. When they were in school, Taejoo used to take home cookies and cakes…
He specifically said he hated having “hyungs” / brothers. An illegitimate sister wouldn’t be as much of a threat to him, and given this was the 90s, a sister would have no power over him.
I think he did crave sibling love, just not from a brother who has more power in the family than him. He’s a messed up person, I can’t even try to understand or explain his thoughts and feelings TBH.
A lot of viewers infantilise Kang Taejoo and think he’s the only innocent one here besides Seo Jiwon. But he was biased against those two guys Gibeom and Im Seokman because of his sister. He was determined to indict Gibeom and get his sister away from him when he found out they were dating and he was part of the student uprising, and when he found out she was pregnant he changed his tune. Then he got hellbent on indicting Im Seokman because he admitted to having a crush on his sister, had her handkerchief, and was caught in a weird (misunderstood) situation with his sister. At no point did he stop and think to investigate properly or consider he might be going after someone innocent, he was misguided by his biases.
I wonder what kind of feelings Siyoung had for Sunyoung? At first, I don’t think he saw her with the kind of…
He did have sibling-like affection for her. When they were in school, Taejoo used to take home cookies and cakes for her from the tutoring sessions, and Siyeong knew. Siyeong bought a box of them so Taejoo could give fresh ones to baby Sunyoung. It was a “friend’s baby sister” kind of thing. When they met again, he remembered her as the baby Taejoo used to take treats home for, and bought her castella out of nostalgia.
She played Kim Young Kwang's love in On Her Wedding Day. He is 189 cm, she is 158. They were cute together. She…
Kwangsoo is playing a villain and has a long-term girlfriend, so I don’t mean romantic-cute, but funny-cute, and a bit scary considering the situation in the drama. She’s able to fend him off using objects larger than him though, like cars.
