Jeon Sonee and Roh Jaewon were great as they always are, but Iâm especially impressed by the younger actorsâ performances. Each actor played their normal versions well but they shined when they played their haunted versions.
I enjoyed the weaving together of tech and shamanism. The backstory was great. Do Haeryong, my sweet girl, you did not deserve all that! đ A lot of these shows focus solely on amplifying gore, so I was happy this was âghost scaryâ as well, not just scary because of blood and flesh đŞ but because of the ghosts and jumpscares too.
I also like that they actually made use of Se-ahâs long jump skills TWICE, they didnât forget about it and actually implemented it.
There werenât any overpowered characters, the good and bad ones were equally matched so it wasnât frustrating.
There was some romance and I liked it, the main couple were cute but FL-SML and ML-SFL scenes were interesting too and kept things fresh.
Overall, I enjoyed this and recommend it to anyone who enjoys horror, high-teen mystery, and ghost centred dramas.
Yes it's quite hilarious to see the actor portray that character that way as I have seen him in other roles. I…
Same lol I fully expected him to show up in a fitted suit and be the hot older love rival but they dressed him âYoung 40sâ and made him so unlikeable, itâs so bizarre I love it!
We get a cute season but itâs only 8 episodes đ I understand the previous seasons were 14 episodes long because of the breakups but 8 episodes is too little even if itâs an easier / simpler story IMO, we couldâve done with 10 or 12 or 97âŚ
Iâll write the explanation for all the establishments and the characters involved before I forget the story,…
Heâs Attorney Robert (the man who was texting Sujeong), a person like Yonah was for Real Capital. He works for Gold Rush Investment. Itâs a cameo of the actor Ju Jihoon. As Real Capital is being taken over by Gold Rush Investments, the man wants to work with Sujeong and his properties.
Moâ money, moâ problems.I loved the drama, it was unique, funny, twisty, and interesting. If someone asks…
Iâll write the explanation for all the establishments and the characters involved before I forget the story, in case someone needs it.
Seyoon building - Gi Sujeong, his wife Kim Seon, his daughter Darae, his best friend Min Hwalsung. Sujeong and Hwalsung were supposed to buy the building together, but Hwalsung backed out because he had a tragedy, and so Gijeong became the owner. He borrowed money from his brother-in-law and Seonâs brother Kim Gyun. Kim Gyun was a cop and found files on Real Capital and Nam Sanghoâs misdeeds, so they killed him. The building fell under Noveau City redevelopment project so its value would increase by a lot. At first this project was cancelled so Sujeong just kept the building, but once the redevelopment was confirmed, Real Capital and Pyeongbukgwan owner Jeon Yangja (Yigyeongâs mom) wanted to buy the building at any cost, and Sujeong got more desperate to keep the building and profit himself. Final owner - Sujeong.
Pyeongbukgwan - Owner Jeon Yangja, her daughter Yigyeong, Yigyeongâs husband Min Hwalsung. This is a restaurant and a heritage property which belonged to the older lady (Yigyeongâs mom). This too would fall under the redevelopment plan. Yigyeong would inherit it. Her husband tricked her to sign it over to him. Sujeong and Seon got Hwalsungâs fingerprint when they kidnapped him, having Sujeong be a shared owner. When Hwalsung died, Sujeong became the owner. Final owner - Sujeong.
Real Capital - Yonah Kim, her boss Morgan Lee, her assistant Jang, man with glasses. Real Capital basically do unethical but not illegal financial activities, such as buying peopleâs debt then forcing them to pay up or seizing their property. Yonah bought Sujeongâs debt for Sehoon building, she needs it as Real Capital wants to profit from the redevelopment project. But Sujeong surprisingly pays off the debt with money received after kidnapping Yigyeong, which ruins Yonahâs acquisition plan. Morgan Lee berates them and calls the headquarters to fire them, and she kills him. She later gets Gijeong to get her all the property Real Capital needs, but goes overboard trying to harm his loved ones as well as people her company doesnât order kills on, going off on her own decisions. Sujeong makes a deal with the man in glasses who is basically Yonahâs new boss, and he agrees. He wants to do business and takes Sujeong as his partner. As a result, he gets assistant Jang to shoot Yonah. Final CEO - Sujeong.
Noveau City - Nam Sangho. This is what is planned as the result of redevelopment. Nam Sangho is a politician in charge of this project. Nam Sangho gets Real Capital to get buildings to agree to redevelopment, and acquire buildings for his own profit later. He needs Sehoon building. He was having an affair with Sujeongâs real estate agent and tried to get her to convince Sujeong to sell the building. The above incidents happened, Nam Sangho was shot by Yonah Kim, and Yonah started seeing Sujeong as the better person to serve. She wanted Yigyeong dead so only Sujeong owns Pyeongbukgwan. Ultimately she is shot. Final person in charge of Noveau City - Sujeong.
Ultimately all four are âin the hands ofâ Sujeong and he is serving higher-ups in Real Capital.
Real Capital got the Noveau City project.
Ending - Now Real Capital is facing a hostile takeover from Gold Rush Investment, and they want to auction off the things Sujeong owns (buildings, Noveau City shares, Pyeongbukgwan), and the man in the end is here to make a deal with him, creating a âhere we go againâ situation.
(Sorry for any mistakes, this is what I remember and understood.)
I loved the drama, it was unique, funny, twisty, and interesting. If someone asks me what this drama is about, Iâd say real estate and investments are at the heart of it. The Korean title is âHow To Be A Building Owner In Koreaâ and itâs about exactly that. Seyoon building, Pyeongbukgwan, Real Capital, Noveau City is what itâs about, and the people involved with these make the âpeopleâ part of the story.
I found the pacing and storytelling consistent, and everything was tied up neatly. Each group of characters is tied to one of the establishments I named, and they all tied in well with each other. (Elaborated in spoiler comment below).
The fate of each character is realistic and the best possible outcome for their character. Gi Sujeong started out a building owner who cared about money, making ends meet, and providing for his family, and had a quirky personality, and heâs the same by the end, just more willing to take risks and grab bigger opportunities.
I mostly watched for Yonah Kim and her fate was justified IMO. She was doing entirely too much and going against code. Even bad guys and corporations have certain code they must stick too and she was doing whatever. Still my favourite character in the show, though.
I forgot that cameo would be there lol heâs my favourite actor so when he finally showed up I was delighted.
Overall, I recommend it if you want to watch a unique thriller and donât care much for people being morally perfect or only good people being rewarded. I liked it and Iâm glad I watched it. I will miss this drama and the discussions!
If it was anywhere between 7.5-8 I would have ignored the ratings and watched it. But the 7.2 is raising my suspicions.…
Itâs really fun! Itâs like those British comedies where people are bad and everything goes wrong. The plot is âongoingâ meaning thereâs no actual mystery to be solved, itâs not a whodunnit; the people doing bad things are the main characters and it just gets really really crazy. Watch if you like dark comedy and donât need good-natured main characters to enjoy a show!
Woman in pursuit of love needs three seasons and kopiko to figure out where it all went wrong.
Man who keeps making toxic and misogynistic comments on women-centred dramas he doesnât even watch needs to keep making new MDL accounts because everyone blocks him and he doesnât get attention.
A drama about cheating wife ,a killer/kidnapper husband ....a mute daughter...... A wealthy naive girl/wife who…
Listen to this user if youâre closed-minded and canât digest different types of storytelling other than flower boys and girls falling in love đ¸đ¤đđ¸đ and have zero sense and understanding of dark humour.
While I do like Won Gyubin, he is charming, Lee Jungha was so warm and endearing in the role. Anyone else, no matter how great, simply wonât FEEL the same.
I donât think actors should ever be recast or replaced in subsequent seasons. Just donât have the character there, or wait for the actor to return from enlistment like they did for Kang Taeoh for Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Replacing the actor of a main and well-loved character is a no-go for me.
Iâm absolutely seated for this unique drama and Iâm sure a lot of villain lovers are too. Lim Jiyeonâs character from The Glory and Heo Namjoonâs character from Your Honor are two of my favourite charismatic villains, and I canât wait to watch my villains together!
Those of you whining about the ML's acting skills and looks should 1st look at themselves in a mirror! If you're…
Wait, people are complaining about Heo Namjoonâs acting skills?? He has shown great range and skill with his acting prowess in a few roles now, maybe they only watched him in one drama. My personal favourite is his villain character in Your Honor (received a Baeksang nomination too if they âonly believe criticsâ). Those eyerolls and sneers were legendary, and he looked so domineering đĽ. And in When The Phone Rings and IUâs music video for Never Ending Story he was the complete opposite, so gentle and sweet (and his WTPR character was sassy too). Iâm excited to see my villains together!
