This is definitely going on my comfort rewatch list. I don't think it was perfect or particularly original, but it was a cosy watch, with some cute and fluffy moments as well as some clever plot arcs.
I don't think it has been mentioned, but I was really impressed by FL's gifting and actions as differently-interpreted communication. Unfortunately these are explained through short dialogue rather than explored in the "show don't tell" kind of way. I think this is why people in the comments don't see the FL as smart or on an equal par as the ML (because power is always seen through the male gaze unless it is exposed).
As I said, it wasn't amazing or brilliant, but it was good enough and comforting and I am struggling to find something to follow it.

That wouldn't make sense for housekeeping and cleaning staff which is definitely racialised globally. There was not a single Black or dark-skinned staff member for a hotel set in Arabia / Western Asia. And given the history of the region (the East African slave trade), the staff would likely be Arabic or Black.
This seems to repeat the pattern that Chinese shows simply refuse to cast Black or dark-skin actors.
My country has just changed its laws and now trans people will have to use the healthcare and wards matching the gender assigned to them at birth and I can't help but feel this episode very strongly in my body.

I really wish they made more verticals like this. it was so wholesome. There were a whole string if really good shows but now it seems bland scripts, bad AI, and repetitive storylines have taken over. What a shame.

I way prefer Will Love in Spring because at least both characters are flawed and healing each other rather than it being a one-way street.
That's not how critique works. There are criteria which you use to compare shows. It's why you have reviewers in the first place. There is a difference between a "good" show and an enjoyable show because how you measure those vary.
Otherwise all assessment would just be opinion, and then what would be the point?
Is this worth it? Seen alot of dramas with high ratings n some were below my expectations
It's enjoyable and the main FL is quite fun, but certainly not worth a 9/10 imho. It's high on MDL because it's an idol drama with pretty and young leads and it's got romance. I was watching Legend of the Magnate at the same time and much preferred that.
Its an idol drama. I usually mentally subtract 0.5 to 1.0 points from the dramalist rating.
More imho. It was enjoyable show for sure, and a high budget production which means it was well produced, but it's not outstanding. It's just like a lot of other idol shows these days where they have clearly written the script and cut according to data on what sells (rather than to tell a good story). I think I can't figure out what criteria people use to make their ratings here.

I was enjoying this until the transmisogyny. Seriously, it's all ok when cis women dress as men in these dramas, but then you create a character who is trans or at least is AMAB or intersex and likes to dress as femme - and they are automatically someone who harasses women? It would have been so simple to have a complex male character instead to convey the same message that trafficking is bad.
