I really want to enjoy this show but why does it have to have yet another ditsy airhaid FL? The CGI and narrative are quite fun otherwise and the other characters are interesting. So why make the FL so childish?
I was surprised at how sweet the romance was... The side love stories weren't as great, and the Misunderstanding was frustrating, but otherwise quite a lovely show.
I'm not really sure what the purpose of the show is? the plot is lacking... And the FL seems really spoilt / immature. The fall out at the end shouldn't have been resolved because it was clear that she would never have understood what he's been through... and her constant need to cheer him up instead of actually supporting him annoyed me. Even before that break up does she ever just listen to him at all? When he tells her about the cut on his arm, she makes a joke...
I'm only on ep 4 but don't get it. If she makes her living off being a screenwriter shouldn't she better at narrative and understanding the characters and history? otherwise how would she have gotten the job?
There is so much I love about this drama, but the ignorance is incredibly frustrating.
- Li Yan has to be one of the most annoying characters ever - how can you be so ridiculously naive and annoying? Closely followed by the 3rd Prince. - Why are the main "good" characters so unaware of how the world works? Like the last 10 episodes make no sense because somehow they don't know how to counterattack or prepare. - Is there no political education? Why did those elders never pass down their knowledge or write these things down? - And why didn't they properly defeat the Disha 20 years ago?
Otherwise I love the chemistry between the main leads - their dynamic is so special and I don't think anything like it exists anywhere else.
I don't understand. Even if the 2 boys were away, could they not have visited? Singapore in particular isn't that far away and it seems strange they wouldn't come back at least once in all those years...
What do I watch after this show? Nothing compares to this show, and everything I watch afterwards has felt so empty. I don't think I'll be able to forget this show, that's how impactful and powerful it is.
Did you forget that both 2ml and 2fl are from rich families so they will survive fine whether they earn money…

I haven't met a junior doctor or legal clerk that's so well rested when they are so young. Hospitals - especially for surgeons - work in shifts rather than "here's your breakfast" every morning.
A good alternative to this show is Fireworks of my heart which is much more believable.
wow. this is definitely parallel universe. since when can doctors and lawyers have the same time off and also seem so well rested? and that's beside the premise that the 2 main characters would love each after 20 years when they didn't even know each other's names? and then the ml seems to think that stalking is somehow flirting?
the 2fl was also a spoilt brat - and neither her nor the 2ml seem to earn any money and somehow survive?
ah, just do yourself a favour and watch something else.
This is a fair review except one thing - of course people would stay in a job for housing loans. That's probably the most accurate thing about this show. It's the same way people stay in awful jobs for visa reasons or for medical insurance.
How is it romantic for a man to literally tell a woman that she can't even talk to other men? How is it romantic for a man to control everything she does? How is it romantic to remove consent in a relationship? Also why is it on a woman to change the behaviour of a man?
No idea why people would like this show as it is a literal example of an abusive male partner with no redeeming qualities.
Maybe I just relate to the ML's life too much...
