@dramaAjumma I so look forward to your eloquent summaries. I too think LlTG is about relationships, family and intimate relationships.
In healthy family relationships, people trust and rely on each other for support, love, affection and warmth. Families often share common goals and work together to reach their purpose. We are witnessing in each episode examples of when this is working and when its not. This is all predicated on a foundation of trust.
Adults feel secure and loved when they have strong and positive family relationships built on on quality time, communication, teamwork and appreciation of each other. We can see where the gaps in the imperial family have arisen as many members do not share a common purpose with their own agendas. The abandonment that CSS feels is because she does not have that foundation of trust,quality time,communication and purpose from her most formative years. Abandonment leads to chronic stress and fear (CSS food deprivation and control) and we can see issues of this in Third Princess who was left to be brought up by her Third Aunt as her parents went off to war campaigns (like CSS parents) Of course I'm not excusing negative behaviours as they play out but often it has a root somewhere in the past.
PS: Loved your comment that Third Prince is a chip off Consort Yue or... the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I wonder if there is a Chinese saying for this?

Oh really, thats a good mentor to have. Yes, it would be lovely for a reunion but I read Hu ge doesn't act much now . Though hes in an upcoming one...with Steven Zhang and one other person - forgot the name.

I agree with your views on WRTW, I love YY in other dramas and I love YLS but I found the chemistry lacking, there was no sizzle. YY seemed a bit older for her? IMO. It was solidly acted but as I'm a fan of good wu xia ( only if done well, not just choreographed poses, edited cuts , poor wire work and no end to end fight scenes, I gave up after 4 episodes and haven't been tempted back even though I know many people love it and its on Netflix etc

Oh great. I was wondering when this would happen - its sounds like a really exciting episode to watch. Action and drama.

Hello, if you scroll down ( further, much further...) you will find many people have commented on the ending of Episode 30 with interesting insights to share. I enjoyed the Huo Memorial dinner too! Wish we could have been there.
