we know that she's confessing indirectly she's afraid to fall for him... but, does XL know that she likes him? In other words, is he interpreting her confession the way we are? just askin...

The author wrote the novel 10 years ago... she may have decided to make these changes to the characters in the drama version.

I would be totally rooting for Jing (though my preference is XL), but he comes across as indecisive, directionless and his facial expressions are always showing his uncertainty and sorrow, at times. What is he waiting for? Is he waiting for Xiao Yao to save him? I get that he's nice... you can be nice, but don't be indecisive.

I like how this is not your standard, vanilla-type romance and that there are complex characters, angst, character development, disappointments.. Legend of Anle is great for those who want a one ML/FL couple storyline and romance.

Tan Jian Ci is a great actor. I first appreciated his acting talent in Secret of Three Kingdoms. That's a great drama if you like more serious historical, dynasty storylines.
