I have read another theory that seems to explain the ending better. So Banxia lived her whole life without memory of XuanYe. Even though she had some vague dreams she did not feel anything much for him. In the end when she remembered him at the end it was more like she remembered her dream. Her feelings were not that strong, that's why she was able to let him go. It was just a dream for her and she probably did not have time enough yet to feel again that love for him that she felt years ago

It was a beautiful story. A bit sad. The saddest part is that she is a human. I do see a ray of light at the end. In 12 years, carefree land is probably settled and a new clan leader is chosen, so XY could come back to Banxia. The question is how will she feel aging next to him ..
I am a bit upset she did not follow him though. Even his bro suggested this and who knows, may be in that place she would age slower. She was always talking about him not leaving her, but she never asked him to take her with him. I don't really understand why. She seemed to love him so much. Don't tell me she didn't want to abandon her parents. That is what all children do when they grow up, and she was a daughter, so she would be married off. If she would have followed him, they would have another 12 years together and a couple of small panthers probably 😭 after that they could have come back and live with her parents if they must

Yes, I agree. Why did not she followed him. She could visit her parents again in 12 years. She could be married off to a far away family and still not see her parents often, so I don't really count this as abandoning. Anyway, there is still a hope that the token can be repaired or another token can be created. Where is a will, there is a way. I am more concerned that she is not even a half demon.... Maybe it is still better that they have separated early in this case. I am still debating if end of 34 could have been a better ending for me 😅
