anything with jisung is worth watching. honestly even if the script was complete trash it would be worth watching because of him. BUT i really love a good time travel/second chance drama so i am absolutely seated and hopeful
They’re playing kids games and getting murdered so I think there’s no real association with kids here.
HAHA fair, i will be the first to admit that i didn’t get too far into the first season and have obviously forgotten… well, the whole plot and the genre
"tbh as long as it’s not deep fakes of the actual actors"well that's a little too specific.
not really… sk has a big problem with deep fakes and honestly when i first saw it, i thought that’s what this was. i haven’t seen much of the promotional material and the way i read it somewhere else made it seems like it was using the original posters but edited. tbf that’s not really what deep fake is either but that’s what i was meaning, and that would obviously be inappropriate and frankly illegal. but that’s not what this is at all so it’s really a non-issue
tbh as long as it’s not deep fakes of the actual actors… idrc lol. the only thing that could be considered a bit weird about it is obvs in squid games they’re playing kids games
What's actually shameful is people's obsession with an actor's sexuality though😭😭
uh……….. you do know what acting is, right? like, not all actors who play gay characters are actually gay, the actors who play straight characters aren’t always straight and god damn i hope the actors who play murderers aren’t actually murderers!
he’s handsome and he acts well. hopefully some main roles are in his near future!! i feel there have been so many good up and coming chinese actors recently!
I rlly want to watch this but the amount of times im seeing "pain" and "heartbreak" in the comments TT
it’s not like… overwhelming. but there are some heavy themes and japanese dramas tend to do well in tying emotional themes with an emotional atmosphere. it’s like… a very cinematic sadness.
i really love bison and style’s styling! khaotung is so pretty… his acting is also great; at first i thought the character would come across a bit like ray from only friends but the mannerisms and everything else is just so different. joong and dunk’s acting has improved and first, like khaotung, was already great and continues to be!
imo jdramas are the best when it comes to conveying emotion, specifically negative emotions. i can’t think of any other country that does sadness, pain and struggle so heartbreakingly—but simultaneously so beautifully. the way that it feels is as if i’m watching a poem…
i’ve only seen 2 episodes… i really, truly already love this. even though it’s not supposed to be too emotional, i feel like the emotional scenes really hit right. in ep 2 i resonate with yun ji won when she says “i’m not crying because you rejected me, i’m crying because these days i’m embarrassed about so many things in my life”.
also i love ju ji hoon, as always. i get this kind of “comedy” might not be for everyone; it’s definitely not subtle and it focuses a lot on acting immaturely, pulling faces, etc. but i think sometimes it’s just fun and easy to watch. i don’t feel like humour always has to be mature, and i don’t feel like adults always act maturely—especially when you’re meeting again with someone you knew when you were young.
the other two (three?) had ‘flower’ in their chinese titles; i think this one means ‘deep purple’ or something…
thank you for that! that makes sense; i completely ignored the number 9 in the title (i read it… and then promptly forgot haha). i feel like it would have been a nice title to mention either the colour or wisteria as i’m presuming these things are symbolic?
I think we had at least two Chinese "Blossom" dramas this year already. I wish they'd be more creative or give…
the other two (three?) had ‘flower’ in their chinese titles; i think this one means ‘deep purple’ or something which is definitely more intriguing. if you search for this in english as just “blossom” you’d get SO many results to wade through! (although blossom is such a pretty word with a lot of meanings so i can’t deny i am partial to it LOL)
