They were already married when we saw them in ep 24. We got to see their life together as a married couple. Ying Tao mentioned he rushed her to get registered, and now he wants to have a wedding. Most dramas show the proposal and then they end. There are only 24 episodes. The drama is about growth from youth to adulthood. We got to see them in their careers and with Ying Tao's family after they got married. We saw the tea ceremony when he served Ying Tao's parents tea, which shows respect and appreciation for all the parents have done raising them and the joining of the family. In Qiaoxi's case, when he asked if he could call them mom and dad, it was about him officially becoming a part of the family. It was beautiful to hear the emotions as YingTao's mom said she had always considered him a son.
