She reminds me of Jing Tian. Chirpy but not annoying.
If you like this novel, try "I am This Type of Woman" and "Eight Treasures Trousseau" and "To Be A Virtuous Wife" by Xue Xia Die Ying (though that author's works have more depth and poetic turns of phrase)

I really like the novel and the FL is adorable in it. I think the key is to not expect it to be more than it is. It's a light hearted rom com, low conflict and not complex. It's a nice read for relaxing at the beach or a cafe.
This is so interesting. My favorite parts were when MT discussed her ideal groom first with her bestie and when…
In the novel it's explained - the legal wife is FL's stepmom but raised her since young and is her mom at heart. So FL stayed with her at home. FL's dad brought a concubine to the border for, um, concubine fun times. FL and her mom are pampered city ladies and could say no thanks, don't want to leave the capital. Concubine had no choice (and also sees the opportunity to advance).
Since you've read the novel, maybe you could clarify that synopsis above? My subtitles say he is a Prince, not…
the synopsis is sorta off from the novel. he's definitely a prince! and she is NOT a general at all lmao. She's hilariously lazy and weak, which is why it's cute when she tries to do mutual activities with her husband crush. Also yeah her family is under suspicion from the emperor but in the novel that subplot takes up 10% of the pages. Mostly the novel is an arranged marriage rom com where FL is an agent of chaos who thinks her arranged husband is capable and hot, so she wants to do nice things for him and bond... and the ML is quickly won over.
The novel is so light & cute, and it's delightfully chaotic and conceited FL so endearing, that sadly the drama is gonna pale in comparison for me. But sometimes you're in the mood for a low-conflict, cheerful romance. Nothing in the novel was orginal or groundbreaking but it wasn't trying to be. Expecting the drama to be something else isn't fair. If it is sweet with lots of couple moments and female friendships, then mission accomplished.
The problem is I guess difficult to steer away from the political backdrop. It's too over-bearing that anything…
Heroes (2024) was fantastic and a good example of a historical drama, because they crafted a story that could only be about THAT TIME and THAT PLACE which had vivid characters caught in a period of transition. It made history come to life. That's why I am curious about A Love Never Lost, hoping it might be good.
What mistake was fixed? The issue with RMP was that fans of the anime and game were disapointed about the story…
Count me one of the RMP haters who is a big fan of both ML and FL actors and didn't think any 'cesty undertones were an issue. I also usually like older woman/younger man ships. I also love ballet moves for sword fighting. RMP should have been a hit with me. But I think that 1) yes LiP needed to have aired first, it would have connected us more to the story and changed the stakes and 2) frankly imo it was a weak script and weak directing. 2 actors I normally love recieved weak direction, bad pacing, badly communicated story. I found it basically unwatchable, just on a personal basis. 🤷♀️ I do feel like LiP has better storytelling flow, better story arc construction that keeps the viewer engaged, better directing and cinematography. Though for people who enjoyed RMP, I envy them. Great!
winning is not the forte for this to be culminating in three parts..this is the first of all..then Red moon pact…
I believe the ethos is basically aligned with "Angel: the series" from the 2000s: Evil can never fully be defeated, past sins can never be redeemed by current heroic deeds, the universe is uncaring and devoid of transcendent meaning and will not reward you for your virtue. The proper response to this is to simply deal with the problems in front of you and help those you can help each and every day.
Heroes don't fight the good fight because they will win. They do it because it's the right thing to do - to try to reduce suffering, for whatever time is possible and for whomever it is possible.
Every episode we spend in the gross demon slavery kingdom reminds me how I despise every complicit resident of this city state and how repulsed I was of that arc in Red Moon Pact 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I can't recall if this hell state finally falls in RMP but praying for its end in Sword and Beloved. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Am I the only one who thinks the chemistry between the leads is actually great? Whenever they look at each other,…
The eye acting is A+++++ Especially the FL, the way she looks at him! I find I rewind their romantic scenes a lot. I just appreciate great face acting. These two truly conveyed a special warmth starting around Ep 17. I'm fascinated to think how a person DOES this.
