A little ridiculous and frustrating at some points (like I’m so sure Qinyi has a rejection kink), but I still…
Watch to episode 11 if you feel this way! You'll learn why Qingyi is more motivated by hate and revenge against the Huos, and his innocent love is long dead - another thing to blame them for.
the crucial thing everyone who drops it is missing is that this show is about REVENGE OVER INNOCENT LOVE BUT THIS INCLUDES QINGYI. You'll learn by episode 11 he holds the same bitterness as the FL. Like her, he holds the Huos responsible, and his chance at innocent love is yet another thing he, like the other characters in this show like his mother, the opera singer, Susu, etc, mournes and is motivated to revenge too.
I feel like you are missing the crucial crucial crucial point that this show is more about REVENGE than LOVE. Qingyi was tortured for years by the Huos, and had his future ruined by them. He wants revenge just as much as Susu.
You might say, it's Susu's fault this happened to him. Well, it's the Huo's fault. Sure, Susu started the events and dropped him, causing the chain reaction, so obviously he's angry at her, but she did it because she too was consumed by revenge for the Huo's.
You didn't watch long enough to realize, but you completely missed the point of the drama, which is that it is more about REVENGE than LOVE. Specifically, Qingyi too is more motivated by the desire for revenge against the Huos than love for Susu, which is why his simping behavior doesn't initially make sense.
The Huo's not only stole his future from him, they also tortured him for years.
Sure, Susu's quest for revenge even if it meant using him as a pawn set off the chain of events for him, but it was the Huo's that he ultimately holds responsible.
Plus, he understands Susu: he too is so consumed by revenge that it trumps all else, and he's even willing to use her, too, to achieve it.
Because he understands that he is essentially no different from her, and they are bound by this thing that supersedes and in fact destroyed the innocent life with room for the love they could have had, he can't help but sympathize with her, and even yearn for and mourne what they could have had.

Omg I can’t wait for this drama 😭 I know it’s way too early to be this invested but I don’t even care…
i saw him in The Starry Sky and liked him but it wasn't until I saw him in Between the Lines that I fell in love love. I think that xanxia, though good, washed him out.
That was singer Kim Min Seok in the duo Melomance not this guy the actor Kim Min Seok
did anyone read the article? it said that he didn't do anything. he simply commented on an insta post that the color of her shirt was for the opposite team.
omg. same here.. I don’t know how it got high rating.. I’m on episode 18. and ready to drop!
No yeah, not sure what happened in episode 18, but the writing suddenly got really bad. all the bad guys (including the ML) doing this that make zero sense but to serve the writers need to drive the plot forward. really disappointed with this episode.
Rewatching again cos there’s nothing interesting going on currently. The audacity and cruelty of those 8 celestial…
Did you see Yang Yang's Immortal Ascension? Based on a great top cultivation novel, great show that also came out on Youku at the same time as this, and that's the theme of it in a nutshell! Go check it out!
I love this me a good Moon Lord. And Arthur Chen (Chen Feiyu) is a dead ringer for YouTuber Adrian Bliss. Like him, has such cute deadpan expressions and funny little smiles, and excellent comedic timing. Definitely more than a pretty face, a very talented actor!
really liking our generation. its more arty than most shows, and beautiful to watch. zhang linghe is really intelligent…
i just mentioned zhang linghe being smart as a very nice way of not saying i think this actor is kinda dumb. I've really tried to watch several of his shows, and been unable to make it through one.
