I have just finished watching this drama after 20 days of happiness I got from them. I have watched ever made me this addicted. What really made me first watch this drama was I did have love at first sight with Han ShangYan character in the PC Room. At first I thought this was going to be a typical drama with cutie girl and cold ass boy and girl that can never stand up for herself and needs the guy to protect her but it was totally different. It was beyond my expectation towards this drama.

STORY:
The plot follows your basic, this made the drama a lot more watchable because I wasn't constantly frustrated and think a lot with the characters and story. The story-line also progressed very smoothly and still in their pace without changing or adding character's point of view. I love how they chose the flashback and telling a story of Han ShangYan's past that made his emotions unstable. Nian Nian is a lovely girl who really damn smart and its really hard for her to not get in touch with someone she is really idolize the most. So we can feel the barrier of communication, feeling development and each moments of their relationship growing up beautiful together. I love how The actors were very convincing in their role and the chemistry was offcharts. The friendship bond between Nian Nian and her friends&family or Han ShangYan with K&K, family and Solo Team. Their friendship felt so real. It was simply gorgeous . Although we are ready knew the story ending but still this drama is full of surprises and still making us craving for curiosity about their romantic scenes and humors.

ACTING/CAST:
The characters have their own color and very much relatable. They have advantages and disadvantages that we dont have to mind since their advantages covered their disadvantages. There were many times when he was clueless about how to please her or what to do in a relationship, so he needed someone to tell him. I enjoyed the character development of each actors episode by episode.

MUSIC:
I love the BGM fresh and have a fighting mood since it is for a competition drama.

RE-WATCH VALUE:
I don't think I can re-watch the entire series from beginning to end, but I might re-watch some cute scenes

OVERALL: Overrated drama but Korean and Japanese drama cant beat Chinese simplicity drama with just a simple actor and acting .This drama was definitely a refresher for me in the abundance of dramas, that I can't seem to find interest so much, premiering nowadays. The storyline was simple yet beautiful and was one that guided the audience through the life of the main character's love story. honestly didn't have any problems with the storyline until the end and I enjoyed every episodes since the begining till end.

HANDS DOWN TO CHARMING HAN SHANGYAN.

The story of this drama is sucks and out of plot.
From amnesia to family conflict. They didnt stick on one story thats why the script was meh. Despite of acting, this is my third time watching chinese/taiwanese drama. So I didnt know very well about their acting etc.
BUT they have one good point that other drama doesnt have. Every time they have a couple quarrel and problem both party solved the problem in good way and communication unlike other drama did to dragged the episodes just to ask for forgiveness. They will do right away.

Very honestly, I enjoyed their cheesy thing hahahah the couple looks great together in one frame but the story itself is still meh. If the plot of the drama was good, I bet the couple will looks amazing and favorable. Chinese & Taiwanese drama should learn about the directing, story telling, and acting from Japanese and Korean Drama. They need to developed those so the viewers can enjoy watching it.

Mother isn't movie only about parental abuse but a also a story about psycho mother who loves entertaining herself with poisonous men. Rather than "slice of life" story, it's telling more toxic relationship between them. The level of cruelty of a mother who only thinks about herself.
My heart is breaking every scenes her children had to move to another places, get involved with debt collectors and waiting for her psycho mother.
It's really hard to imagine children needs to go through manipulating, cruelty and abusive mother that he will never abandon her.
The great performance from Nagasawa Masami and Okudaira Daiken told the audience how wild and chaotic the movie is; not to mention the audience couldn't stand to watch it.
I remember once said on Shoplifters "You can't choose your own parents" and the director told us by that love is somehow default. she will never give him his own space and her son will always part of her.

Overall, this movie is the most sickening and depressing no moral values at all.

First, I watched this drama with a full preparation of big heart towards LiXian x Wang Zixuan and. I prepared my feeling towards them without hatred and biased.

I watched this series on Netflix and The drama started really well, I was expecting it would be the best LiXian drama and then it's getting weirder and weirder so I claim maybe he will get a better drama with "Republican Era" later.
It's very unique drama with a little touch of folklore, mystical and superstition which is I was completely hooked up by watching their first 10 episodes.

The drama is set in the republican era which with aesthetic props and setting even the costumes. They introduced the drama with some kind of "shaman" annual ritual in Tientsin and lead the audience to get know Guo Deyou and Ding Mao. Guo Deyou (LiXian) who salvaged corpses from the river and known as "Little River God", the ability with kind of smoke spiritual method meanwhile Ding Mao (Zhang Mingen) is a son of the chamber of commerce and forensic scientist enthusiasm lead them together to try solving mystery about the murder in Tientsin, up to this point the drama was excellent. Gu Ying (Wang Zi Xuan) character is very refreshing at the same time dumb and I love Xiao Lan character the most which is thanks to Charlene Chen for played it really well. The combination between mysticism and modernity (at that time) blended together to add the uniqueness of the story. The relationship between four characters were pretty decent and the bickering was pretty delightful. The humor is sometime on point and mostly are dull.

Like I said before, The drama started very well and it's getting weirder and
I couldn't cope what the hell happened between leads, antagonists and the main issue. When it started into Evil Gang Cult and holy child went to zombie apocalypse to psychotic magicians and they didn't even explain the relationship between the main issue and them which is I found it was really confusing, ridiculous and outrageous to digest.I just can't stand with their beating around the bush conversations and didn't come straight to the point what they wanted to tell the audience about. The writing was very dull, I am pretty sure the one and only who understood the story only the writer himself and he even couldn't let the director understand it so the directing skill is quite off.

The drama didn't realise that they need a plot so they could engage the audience into their story very well. They have to enhance the character development to get the drama more well executed. Even me as the audience cant feel any "villain" characters at all. The drama didn't grasp each characters really well even the four main lead which is disappointed.
Sometimes they started off over acting a lot especially Gu Ying ( Wang ZiXuan, well if she doesn't do over acting, I found her quite decent in acting) and Ding Ming (Zhang Mingen) and make have no choice to move forward it. I don't mind with the dubbing except Gu Ying , it wasnt match with her body and age at all. Though maybe at that time either LiXian or Charlene Chen were inexperience, so their acting are not at their best. For Wang Zixuan and Zhang Mingen, they have to improve and learn more about acting, I watched their acting are really stiff.

For the cinematography, it's very beautiful with a little touch of "mysticism" and "republican era" and I love it. The costumes are made very on point and perfectly suit of each characters. The setting and props are so stunning and color palette of cinematic are stunningly great but I hate myself when it comes to small details like how they used camera, film camera, writing with pen, using medical mask and microscopes biology all of them are WRONG USED and it's such a shame they didn't use it very good props properly. They shot it fantastically so we could watch it the sense of frightening and creepy montage and creativity to put the deleted scene.

ENDING EPISODE

I didn't know how to explain how disappointed I am, watching last episodes that left us so many unanswered questions that still mystery. The ending was really ridiculous and abrupt. I couldn't say any words except "WTF is this"
1. They didnt tell us why the master is gone and suddenly he is back and told Gu Ying that he searched for Dark Waters. Where is the explanation about the water and the missing master himself?
2. Unnecessary kissing scene
3. The holy child is Gu Ying yet I have no idea wtf happened in the end, what kind of spiritual she has that she can jump to the water while she lost her sight.
4. Where is the explanation between Zombie, Evil Gang Cult and magician psychotic? and they just killed Huang Yu like that?

OVERALL

Overall, Despite the ending was abrupt and disappointed. We could tell that is the conclusion what the drama has actually happened, "weirdo". It had enough fantasy and mystery to satisfy me. I was hoping for more of an explanation as to how the Little River God could stay submerged for such a long time and his mystical other worldly wandering. He seem more magical than the Holy Child. it’s a cliffhanger for a season two, I hope it will answer all our questions. TBH, I would never to recommend this drama to my friends who has prejudice towards LiXian.
LiXian has that talent to improve and promising, I do hope he could break away his image with a well written, well directed and well casted drama.

I will give another chance to Tienstsin Mystic Season 2. I hope they will give us a better well packaged drama than this one.

The story of Korean-Japanese psychiatrist during The Great Hanshin Earthquake in Kobe who voluntarily gives treatment to the victims also himself. He listen to their stories and feels the pain.
While he visited hospital, he witnessed the battlefield of evacuation shelters and he began to search what he can do as psychiatrist but he awares that he is powerless to do anything. He compiles his observation about the disaster in point of view of psychiatrist.

One of well made special jdrama. It's short only 4 episodes. The pace is good and the stories gave us in variant emotions. Full of positive vibes, very heartwarming lesson of life coping of mental illness and traumas during disaster. Beautiful scenery filming and performance.
There is something missing about the story. The engagement between the doctor and the patients. Overall I can feel the warmth of the drama.
"Doctors don't heal people traumas. The only thing they can do is to offer support as they're trying to recover by themselves. "

Through this drama, I finally understand a little bit what mental care means and it means to never leave anyone alone. Smiling face with smiling eyes

I'm a newbie in cdramaland. For me actually, period cdrama has a unique point that kdrama or jdrama doesn't have. When I watched The Longest Day in Chang'an and Joy of Life, I thought how could they made such a beautiful cinematography and costumes? How could they have well casted, well written and well directed drama? It's a period drama why it's really enjoyable to watch? Something like that. Then I tried to watch other cdrama like Goodbye My Princess. The couple was have good chemistry but the script was "meh".
I did also watch Rise of Phoenixes, they have very beautiful cinematography and props also potential actors but in the middle of dramas, why the plot became nonsense and ridiculously disorganized. Why don't I try watching Held in the Lonely Castle, maybe they are a little different?

I had same thoughts with pammo1949 "I have developed a love-hate relationship with but will not give up."

Qing Ping Le or I usually called it "Held in the Lonely Castle" instead of "Serenade of Peaceful Joy" it started stronger, engaging and powerful with Empress Dowager appearance and a will of young boy who wanted a justice for his biological mom but suddenly those expectations are fading and left with tragic love and life story.

As he grown up, Zhao Zhen his name. He had grudges to the Empress Dowager and fell in love with Zhou clan woman who accidentally he met but officials who thought they were "gentlemen", they want their Emperor married with graceful, morally responsible, good attitude and educated. She was a noble woman who her uncle was a warrior general and her name was Cao Danshu.
Zhao Zhen accepted their offering and he got trapped by malicious rumor which led him missed his wedding night with her.
He becomes very benevolent, wise and has a good foresight but he has a weakness, he fancied woman, he loves liquor, he leads everything from his head and not his heart.

Cao Danshu who truly loves her as she had crush with him and willingly married him without knowing what kind of person he is. When he missed the wedding night, she keeps blaming herself that he didn't like her because he didn't choose her as Empress and wife. She keeps getting hurts by time she lives in Palace. She knew she couldn't win his heart and He had been cold to her for fifteen years

The most heartbreaking point he has is he loves his Empress, his legal woman, his love but he hides the feeling of loving her and he is safeguarding her quietly. He wanted her to be safe. He also didnt know her love is bigger than his worried to the nation and people.
He loves her but he cannot stop himself from getting jealous or suspecting her. He was very untrusting of her, and there was rumors to impeach the Empress.
Until later on when he gets older, he really appreciates her but by then The Empress cares and loves him but not the romantic way. He just wants a balance between imperial harem and imperial court.

The lackness of communication they have, create so many misunderstanding and untrusting towards each other. In the end Zhao Zhen realised that He also loves her very deeply and told her before he died in her arms.

Zhao zhen is such a stubborn man also. He wants her daughter to be happy by pampered and spoilt her. He doesn't realise that her daughter is a human, a human has feeling which is different from his feeling. Huirou her name, acted the way she did, also because she was spoilt by her father and she was just trying to rebel against the marriage she did not want. She just wants a life for herself in a justice. Ended up hurting herself mentally. But Zhao zhen didn't realise that he was as stubborn as her daughter

When Zhao Zhen said "I was the one that caused all of this" was really heartbreaking. That's a father feeling that maybe son/daughter doesn't have those thing. A lion never kills or eats his own child. Both Emperor and Empress also Huirou have sad and tragic story. He was worried about the empress and his daughter huirou will suffer too... thats why i can only blame him for being too mature.

Qing Ping Le has very beautiful costumes details, very oldish and vintage props, historical set, beautiful cinematography, very sad and deep soundtrack. They have draggy, mess and dull script though if we look it generally, it's really smooth and the plot kept on track. The real problem here is they are wasting all potential cast's talents and skills. There are so much opportunity to make this drama looks incredible thrilling with the actor skills. The editing was very terrible. They jumped in to the other unrelated scenes which looks unnatural. It was like watching a drama made by student who just barely use video editing. The executions most of them look ridiculous for me and not strong enough to engage the audience to understand the meaning of them.

Very honestly, I personally think that this drama is too much focused on Zhang Bihan and her people. I think they could summarize Zhang Bihan and the gang into 5 episodes but they deliberately did this for 20 episodes even more. Maybe, because the investor or other things that influenced the original broadcast into less then 50 episodes. Even, Jiang Shuying as a lead (Empress) only had few scenes. If you read the novel or history, the Empress story is more interesting and impressive because her bleak and tragic life but she still respects and loves Zhao Zhen instead of mentally ill Zhang Bihan who wanted as a legal wife(Empress) with the gang who eagerly did a power struggle.

Despite all those things , they have advantages too and I really appreciate to all actors. Personally, i enjoyed watching every scenes. I learned a lot about Chinese literature, art, poetry, Confucius morality, and lesson of life. I found myself got convinced and interested by them.

Nonetheless, the drama is quite enjoyable and interesting for me. I was really impressive by their acting especially The Emperor and Empress. Their nonverbal, mannerism, knowledge and interpersonal communication between them even their monologue performances and the body language are communicated very well also so we can tell that they care and love to each other. The acting between officials court and Emperor are quite like how they represented in that year. Schemes, self-presenting, power struggling, etc..

The problem why people look down this drama because they want to see cat fights and the inner imperial harem fighting. the novel perspective its interesting and impressive to see life from the eyes of a worker in the palace, so it is fun to read.
But if we execute into drama, it would be confused the audience.
For me so far, if it is a novel adaptation, the drama completely ruins the original story but the scriptwriter wants to pleased investor& government and to look more historical than what in novel does but its ended up a failure to convince the audience

An Honest Review from Long Time Jung Yumi's fan

Review of #TheSchoolNurseFiles

ㅡ The series kicked off with lively and energetic and We could see the main protagonist Ahn Eunyoung. She has different ability from other children. She is born with eyes which can see "jellies"& allow her to see kind of living creature

On the first episodes we could see an oddball introduction with some humors and intriguing part which Ahn Eunyoung is trying to vanquish the jellies with her toy weapon ( lightsaber and bb gun). I as the audience was waiting for the story telling behind scientific reasons what's going on in every story they told on the screen and sadly we got nothing. However, there are some heartwarming and jolly moment in every episodes. Thanks to Yoo TaeO and Moon Sori as special guest.

The School Nurse Files doesn't carry enough to convince the audiences with scientific reasons. They didn't flesh out into a decent story. It's really a shame because there are some a nice ideas but ended up with cliffhangers plot. Here some parts need to be answered. Ex) In the fish market, They didn't tell us who she is. What kind of operation they did? What kind of medical treatment they do? Who did they have that ability? Is there any community among them? They didn't explain anything briefly among the people who understand even can see jellies. Beside a bizarre writing with no details explanation, the story goes in piles of different directions. The series is directed with independent mind so it looks absurd. The inconsistency in editing turned into confusing. The series is no more than just selling a concept...sadly

Apart from plenty weakness they have. this series has an excellent cinematography and CGI like in fairytale world ? and the jelly floating everywhere and blobs around the screen. It looks squishy and amusing. the sound effect and BGM also great. The preformance of all casts are good but not at their best. Jung Yumi personally I could only see her in romcom or melodrama movies/dramas, but she steals the show with a bubbly spark, funny and energetic.

OVERALL:

#TheSchoolNurseFiles is a bizzare and confusing fantasy series with unsettled packed plot. There is no scientific form or explanation to anything going on the screen. As the result, it loses some interests to continue the series. The series ain't going to wrap up with explanation. A lot of unpacked files here and there, also cliffhangers ending of each files. It has nothing to expect more than disappointing plot and editing. Though the series looks charming with weird plot and genuinely has a heartwarming performances.
I can only give ★★★ maximum and I don't think it's good enough for rewatch value. If you are ready for weird, absurd and abstract plot, this series might be your cup of tea but you might find easy to give up the series and pretend it's doesn't exist.

"The Importance of Acknowledgement" this movie told us human beings will do everything for their loved ones either it's good deeds or sins.
Shuya planned his game and schemes all the incidents to hit the news and get popular. Apart from doing that, his main purpose is to get acknowledged by her genius mother.

The movie has intriguing story and very compelling to watch. Cinematography has dark, cold and grey palette tones. Most of scenes are stylish with slow motion. We could see single details of droplets whenever it splashed. A movie with an ultimate and elegant revenge with cold-blooded psychological thriller, dark and savage humor with variations of cruelty in the horrible classroom. The characters are pitiful, pathetic and understandable for some points.

STORY:
The plot follows your basic, this made the drama a lot more watchable because I wasn't constantly frustrated and think a lot with the characters and story. The story-line also progressed very smoothly but some of parts is not necessary. Its a typical asian drama with cohabitation but with a background of "college couple" so they didnt intend to put so much romantic scene but cute scene is point plus for this drama. Somehow, They dont need to drag the story.

ACTING/CAST:
The characters has their own color. All the female characters ( Si Tumo's friends) were really well done enough to play the role but unexpectedly the main male lead (Gu Wei Yi) is not good acting which is disturb me when watching his parts.

REWATCH VALUE:
I dont think I can rewatch it.

OVERALL:
Overall, this drama is too much for 24 episodes when they can wrapped it up to 16 episodes. Too much unnecessary scenes.

Shoplifters, presenting an almost trite observation about the need for human connection in an unfeeling world, then following it up with a stinging insight of how even those who feel that need the strongest have been conditioned to think of themselves first.

The film implies that the characters wouldn't have to break the law if life under late capitalism were more equitable, and Koreeda's reminders of everyday inequity throw the family's kindness and painful into sharp relief. Filled with misguided good intentions, unexpected warmth and some nifty thievery moves,
“Shoplifters” is above all a movie about family — the aching, heartwarming, unexpected, natural need for one and the parameters of the term.

First:
I was really excited finally cdrama has short series with amazing story. I know it's a live adaptation from the novel but still this is very well packaged drama 40 minutes per episode yet engaging enough to make it like we are watching movie instead of dramas. What a masterpiece

Second:
Very well done acting from all casts. I don't have any words to criticize or compliment. Amazing!
They have beautiful cinematography which is taken in 2005-2009. Very rare, classic and implicit. Good job to all staff and actors to bring this drama into a light of tv-cinema.

Third:
The script. I was really amazed how the writer make the story very implicit and had a connection one of each other. They make the audiences saw in different point of view yet there are some pov we didn't realise before. I found "caoyang" characters are "bloody coward" than any audiences think all the kids are innocent. There is a connection between Caoyang and Dongsheng. Both of them love math, they are betrayed by the one they care, they didn't tell the police the whole truth. During Jingjing's case. I thought Jingjing was hanging from the branch before she fell down. I think Caoyang tried to help her he has no other choice but it's already too late and he didn't want to involved or remember that. He knew he didn't copy the file and the SD card was empty. He brought that topic again in the toilet cause he knew Dongsheng will overheard his convo with Yan Liang. He killed two birds in one stone goodness.I thought Caoyang is more ruthless than Dongsheng and ofcourse he is clever enough to scheme everything. The writer is brilliant to make Caoyang looks innocent and nice boy while he wasn't. He wanted to look as a good boy in front of everyone that's why he doesn't want to tell the truth about all the cases he is involved. and I thought Caoyang is more ruthless than Dongsheng and ofcourse he is clever enough to scheme everything. The way the writer wrote from Cao Yang pov and lead the dongsheng insanity case but not to put much exaggeration is also a good point that the drama has ever done.

Fourth
Regarding the ending,I don't mind with the open ending so we could make our ending by it is.

I dont have much to say about this drama but this drama has their own charms. For me This drama has an usual fake-marriage story that makes this drama has their own charms. The development of each episodes were great. Its not dragging it keeps on their stats. There are a lot of plot-twist on each line, dialog and episode. I really love how well written the story was. Gakki acting was superb, she made the drama alive and more lovely. I like Hosino Gen character but at the same time i just got bored with his character. I dont much into ikemen actor but height differences between him and gakki were awkward to watch hahaThe supporting actors also carried the character really well. overall i like this drama.

As expected WOWOW production never disappointed me at all. They always leave me impressed with top tier quality and put effort to ensure a high standard of story telling, acting, cinematography, casts and production values.

A Journalist is trying to reinvestigated old kidnapping case by rely on his memories and networks he has. The drama expressed some strong element of guilty through each characters. They delivered different of perspectives and don't show judgemental to the character who involved. One thing was amazed me how the drama itself stick on media ethics and do key points to approach things. I love how the drama potrayed professional reporter to solve and reinvestigate old kidnapping case and not rushing anyone involved but to let them share the experiences and sympathies. The transition between past and present was so smooth. We could tell by cinematic itself.
Overall it's very satisfying to watch and character and story telling was made us to focuse and pay attention for each scene. Acting was very solid with numerous number of veteran actors leading the cast which made it easier for me to grasp the characters stories.

I am gonna put this drama on my top 10. I heartily recommend to anyone who likes watching a mystery drama. #KageriYukuNatsu is drama that worth every second of your time. It keeps you on the edge of seat.
