I know the novel is dark. I could understand why adapting it faithfully would have been impossible. Sadomasochistic S+ drama ugh, not in my wildest dreams. But the writers made the characters suffer, despite being strong characters in the beginning. Yes it leveraged my sense of pityness and I cried for them. However, the change was drastic. Therefore some people are pissed.

It is nice to have character development, indeed, but I would have preferred them to stay true to themself and make the story evolve, instead of running after the story. However, I respect the writer's choices but they could have introduced what happen differently and thouroughly.

That's why he asked his bodyguard to gave her a grand burial in Qinzhou, once the plan would be executed. Unfortunatly, the Momai poison was lethal. The only antidote was the dragon flower but the seed was owned by the CP MRXL. This is why MRJH tested an antidote and poisoned himself.

Yes Master of Shadow Works is MRJH. He took 10 years to train Mei Lin to make an attempt assassination of himself, on the purpose of sowing doubt in his father's heart and causing a commotion so that his father has to reopen the Qinzhou case and he can finaly reddem the 30.000 ( I think) Weibei army soldiers, who died unjustly.
Later on the show, when he was already head over heels for Mei Lin, he tried to synthetize an antidote for Mei Lin, by using himself as a testing cobaye. This is where he poisoned himself.
What can I do Fiona? I find this drama so poetic. I love the morals (pay attention on what you do) + symbols of the show and it pleases me to re watch it. Despite the bashing it faces and the decrease of the ratings. I guess some people don't like some characters, the ending and the fact that CP MRXL died too early on the 24th episode.
I will next watch FoF but meanwhile, I will re-watch daily one episode. Hopefully the audience will understand more of the show. I am hoping to see the rating stop decreasing.
