So, ML survived and embarqued on a quest to free his people and restore his kingdom. This is a righteous and virtuous mission.
The toxicity doesn't last on ML part but on SML part instead.
There is no secondary couple for now. Hope it develops with Ziming Cui's love interest. A mysterious girl who sends dragon flies.

I totally agree with you. Sometimes I have the OST on rotation while I am home. When a show has a bad OST, it is of course downgrading the ratings of that show. Luckily, we were given that beautiful soundtrack. It is very enjoyable.

Yes it is a story about "Human History" and the way people were annihilated throughout the course of History. Every human being can relate to the trauma ML suffered from. He is a survivor of genocide and slavery. His quest for freedom is virtuous.
