It doesn't bother me because it is a hero feature. I always noticed that in movies/dramas: Heroes are loved /desired by female characters and envied/ hated by male characters. The other way around works aswell. . Heroins are loved /desired by male characters and envied/ hated by female characters.
I liked that she is true to her love to Duke Su, she never hesitated, so I likes it. I prefer it to love triangle when the hero in testing the waters. Thank you Sir ^^
She was not weak willed. I suppose that you forgot that they were solving a case related to this gang's chief. That's why the events developed like this. They didn't know, at the time, who was the master mind behin all this. She had to be cautious. I totally understand why she hired him. And I totally understand why she kept playing the benevolent boss's role, when Jiang Xin Bai and her discovered that this dude was distributing zornia using her shop. She was not free to do whatever she wanted, neither were her husband.
And YES oaths were unbrakable. Thanks to this : Jiang Suo Luo got closer to her brother, after she made several promises. Tong Sai Er fell in love with Shang Bie Li after she made oaths with the wooden leaf and her blood on it. Even the gang chief himself Bai Yuan promised to keep her safe and he died taking arrows on his back to protect her. And there are a lot of other examples that oaths were unbrakable.
Havent watched this one (have no intention to) but yeah, i thought he died at the end of ep40. How come they come…

For Duke it was love at first sight. The first time he saw her from the balcony. (I heard someone telling that the actor said so). Didn't you notice that he constantly investigate her love life from the get go. When he saw her at the temple? + at the torture room + at the his palace+ at the balcony ( if i remember well) To make sure she didn't really flee with her lover, like SYR's family told everyone to tarnish her reputation.
Concerning Xue Fang Fei I am not sure. I have to watch again. I am like you hehehe ^^

Do you really thing that the drama would show several training sessions repeatedly? She was training to pass her exam, evidently she trained several times and mastered it. There is no need to loose screentime on this matter.
Regarding the last man standing issue and the win of Duke Su on battlefield. This is an historical fact in ancient chinese military rule of combat. If the ruler is killed on battlefiled, the army of the ruler yelds or flees. Regardless if there is only 1 last man standing opposing them. There is nothing miraculous about his victory and his return home.
