As someone who is not used to watching Chinese variety show, I partially agree with the comment below atleast on the first few episode.
Dongdong (Chen) seems to be the only one who knows what he is doing, JingYu (Johnny) looks very out of place, Jackson was just being Jackson, and Nannan (Vin) looks terribly awkward standing on the sides doing nothing when he was given the bear costume. The children also seems like brats and annoying in the beginning.

I think why it felt it was off in the beginning is because I keep comparing it with some kids varietyshow in Korea, Little Forest or TROS for example. In those shows you see the cast or guest really focusing on the kids and trying hard to be a good guardian or leave a good impression (too hard at some times that you feel it is not natural). In Little Forest they even got some child care license etc.
In LGOMB, they just appeared like a reluctant group of guys who were caught unprepared for babysitting. It seems very weird at the beginning but as it progress they started to grow on me, both the babies and the cast.
Their progress looks more organic than just forced for the camera. You can definitely tell by how the kids have been interacting with them that their relationship have greatly improved. The awkwardness was replaced with ease, and they begin to tackle situations with humor.

I also noticed the way they edited this is they kept it basic, they did not create any subplots in the story board. TROS can shoot in the most boring day and editors will make it look intense. I'm not saying pick some scenes and make it dramatic, but I think this is a pity as I've seen from the unreleased clips a lot of funny moments and even more interesting situations. The Director simply took the daily schedule and build the episode around that. I can't decide if it is a good thing or not, but there was no individual focus on any character, it just felt like watching them from a CCTV and making our own conclusion on what kind of person they are. Well, maybe this is the Director's way of keeping screentime equal.

Overall, I enjoyed it. It felt so random but I think they did a good job. Dongdong is definitely the best, he's the type who not only know how to deal and discipline babies but at the same time still knows how to joke around with them. Second, I'd pick is Nannan, he worked really hard, he's like the older responsible brother to the babies. I felt sorry for him a couple of times as since he is also the youngest in the 'gege group', he seems to be out of place when with the bigbros.

And for the babies, my favorite is HaoHao. Not just because he is stinkin cute, but the kid got a whole personality for a 3 yr old.haha He is very responsive and gives good reaction and says the darnedest things in his cute little voice.

I know I am replying to a 4yr old comment, but I also got confused with this when I saw the synopsis. So after finishing the show, I can clarify that the kids only stay with them for 3 consecutive days at most, then they go home. And then they come back to shoot after a week or so again.

Yes, TW dramas were the best back then (before kdramas and even cdramas exploded). I think it's more the lack of budget for production and international marketing. Korea really worked hard to spread the Hallyu wave and China has so much freaking money for grand productions. I am convinced there are still many great TW dramas out there, it just that they were not given much international attention ('Someday or Oneday' for example) or not picked up by subbing teams.

As for something like Autumn Concerto, this one is hard. I thought 'Loving, Never Forgetting' should be it, but it was to melodramatic. 'Only You' is close but still not good enough.
I could suggest Cdrama 'Begin Again' for you, it's not exact premise, the beginning start light and fun but as you go along it's really good. And their baby boy is very very cute.

Yes, exactly. This is why I enjoy it too. I still think about it and I have questions pop up now and then, but then when I try to rethink, I get all the answers because they were there or hinted all along. Like with that car, it was mentioned they bought an old model car (even the mechanic don't want to fix it anymore) and she was just still using it to hold on to the memories. Everything makes sense, brilliant scriptwriting.

I never mentioned that they should find someone exactly like Greg Hsu. I'm talking about the character Li Zi Wei, and true that they could make some changes. But the core of the story that cannot change is they need an actor who has a wide range of emotion and acting skill (transition from charming cheeky teenage boy - to - ideal perfect boyfriend who hides a secret - to - a depressed middle age man ).

I would have no negative comments at all if they introduced a newbie or an unknown actor for the role, as it is more exciting to be pleasantly surprised (just like how DoHyun and InHyeop had shined these past years out of the blue).
My problem is that I've already seen a lot of Ahn HyoSeop that disappointed me. This skill that you are talking about, I do not see it at all. He is either always overacting or is underwhelming. This is subjective personal opinion of course, but it seems like I'm not the only who thinks so.
Not to be shallow so I asked myself if it was because I do not find him attractive, but I also do not find Kim SeonHo and LeeSeungGi attractive, but I think they are highly highly talented and I love watching their show because of this. So this is not a face bias at all.

I will still watch this because I love the original so much, and I do hope that this time, this one doesn't again end up in the pile of disappointment and I finally see this 'skill' that you are talking about.

Am I the only one who sees a bit of Won Bin in his face?
Like his face is WonBin but with a little bit more roughness mixed in and a bit less perfect.

It surely is not an insult, it's just because WonBin is god-tier when it comes to visual. And LSH being in the same mold is still really really attractive.

He reminds me of DengLun when he was a teen on SOOD. Then we he matured (37yr old with glasses and his hair brushed up), he has an uncanny resemblance to HyunBin.
I need more series with him as a lead. T.T is he problematic in real life, why isn't he getting more projects?

Although I'm happy with this 'sequel', I'm a bit worried too.
The main series was too perfect, almost no plot holes. I hope this will stay true to the logic they set on the main series seeing that is is the same writer.

The HYX of 2017 (breakup and plane crash year) was still just an ordinary normal girl. Unlike LZW (who is currently living as WQS), she did not (yet) live through tragedies of death and loss. LZW/WQS knows they are living on a borrowed time hence becoming the perfect boyfriend in a false hopes the 'inevitable day' will not come.
I think with HYX it's just the case of 'you don't know what you have until it's gone'. As mentioned, she was at this point just an ordinary making decisions which she think was best for them. She knows WQS loves her so much that he will follow and give up any life opportunities he has just to be with her. It is on the surface just like any ordinary breakup that couples have. Although it's quite apparent (story aside, even if WQS did not die), she will anyhow eventually realise how much she loves him and will get back to him.

We've always seen HYX depressed and desperate for WQS, so it does seem out of character why she'd breakup with him if she loves him this much. But if we back track and put ourself in the position of HYX on 2017 (her not knowing why kind of epic love story they already have), I would say it is understandable.

This is one of the most perfect and seamless time travel love story that I've ever seen.
It stayed consistent to the logic/rules that it has set. After finishing it, I get this many questions and 'what if' scenarios in my head and thought I found a plothole. But when I think it through again, everything did made sense and I get the answers to my own question.
ABSOLUTE BRILLIANT writing, I think the last time I was this engaged into a story is with FLOWER OF EVIL. I love that there is a right balance between the mystery and romance. And it really takes an amazing skill for the writer and director to be able to come up with the perfect pacing. It keeps you hooked, sometimes you think you already know the twist and then it throws you off again. I like that it is complicated and yet not too complicated for us to just give up thinking altogether.

The one thing that I struggled with though is caused by the subtitle confusion. I kept thinking CYR death was on New Year Eve as in Dec31 1998. But then I realised they were talking about CHINESE NEW YEAR which was Feb14, 1999.

Another question that I have is that we were bombarded by HYX's memories of her time together with WQS and her love for him, and yet it seems out of character that she initiated the break up just because she wanted to move, like haven't they heard of long distance relationship. I thought about this a lot, until I came up with my own conclusion (see in the spoiler comments below).

Honestly, I don't like what Ahn HyoSeop did in A Business Proposal, which is one of my favorite manhwa. Now I'm worried of his adaptation of another one of my most favorite story. Li Zi Wei is just so perfect, and I truly truly hope he can pull it off. And I may also be partially biased as I never find Ahn HyoSeop attractive and all the other dramas I've seen of his never impressed me with his acting. I love this story so much though so I'll still give it a chance.

I'm currently watching the original TW version and thinking who is suited for the remake.
I don't know about the FL, but for the ML (no hate to Ahn HyoSeop) I keep imagining Hwang InYeop. The rest of the seasoned actors might be too old to play teenager.
He'll be perfect for the role.
The duality of being an adult and also playing a role of highschooler will work perfectly for this.
And also with how he acted in True Beauty, I can definitely see him pulling off this chill and slightly cocky ML part.

We usually always empathize with the underdogs and I'm definitely with you on wanting the best for RunYu. I remember some years back while this was airing that I post a lot to defend RunYu haha (even on the later stage of the series and after all the 'stunts' he pulled) just because I see the reasons why he turned out a certain way.
But that being said, there was not a moment where I disliked XuFeng. It's not his fault that his circumstances are better and that he was heavily favored. Even with this he never turned into an entitled brat.

And btw, the 35 episodes is not long.
I would watch more episodes of them just being happy with their baby.
I love how it was not rushed and it feels like we have an extended ending.

Yes! I love their voices, specially FangNing's.
It's quite refreshing after all other dramas have FL with high pitched cutesy voice.
Her voice is very calm and relaxing. And GongJun as well.
