I think you really did missed some details by skipping. The photo is saved on a cloud/drive, they asked for the account and password. Therefore, in the last loop they didn't even need to meet the 'witness' to get access to the photo.

I think it's because of the way he talks, it's a bit theatrical. But this is how he is talks also in all other dramas. I think acting wise he's doing very good.

I agree with the comments that it seems off. I don't know if it's the editing, the script, or the fact that I don't feel much chemistry with the leads. It just feels pointless and plot going nowhere. Too many characters and too much going on and yet it feels like it gives us nothing.

It does give Record of Youth vibes, and that is not a compliment.

Romance is not the main plot of this story. There is no angsty love triangle, don't worry it's not like the regular love triangle. That part of the story is actually quite comedic. ZQ will cry but not over this haha:)

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL DRAMA. You can read the reviews and comments for all the positive things. I will instead address here the most common negative comment I see, because I know such comments can be discouraging and you might skip and miss this treasure.
ABOUT THE ROMANCE PART - I do agree that you will feel a shift in the tone of the story at around ep15 when the romance starts and you might end up always saying you miss their childhood and romance is not necessary . However as it move along, in my opinion the romance is not a negative thing. It is not the central focus of the story, and the LOVE TRIANGLE is very short lived. Honestly you can't even call it a real love triangle, it's just a momentary confusion on ZiQui's part. Don't worry ZQ is not gonna cry over that, the 'love triangle' scenes were actually funny.

The romance is also not uncomfortable for me as even from the start, although JianJian considers them both as brothers, you can sense that there is still a difference between her relationship with LingXiao and ZiQui. Same as how LingXiao is very much aware that JianJian is a girl, in comparison to how ZiQui treats her. And the most important factor is that they were separated for 9 years and in those period they were greatly reminded they are not blood related. I don't think it's weird and 'incest-like' at all.

So to anyone who is hesitating, PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY, IT IS WORTH IT. The romance is just a minor part, the family and the slice of life struggle is still the core of the story.

P.S. Can't see comments appreciating the child actors. Such wonderful performance, I wanna hug them so badly whenever I see their sad eyes. T.T

I'm confused, I watched this on YT and was surprised when it ended on ep29.
I see another version with 32 episodes, did I really missed 3 episode worth of scenes?

I'm on ep4 now and I'm liking the simplicity of the plot, the main couples chemistry and their natural acting.
But why, why oh why do they still have to insert this 2nd couple I assume?
They disrupt the flow of the scenes, I couldn't care any less about them and I feel like they do not fit into the story. I wish there is less of them in the next episodes.

As an avid reader, I think I'm more open minded and can diffentiate reality from fiction so it's really not a deal breaker for me. I'm just curious how bad it is, do you know which chapter? Because the review that I read gave it a 1star because of that and said ML is complete trash.
Also, which chapter does the FL give up and leaves the 'past'?

I read the first 36 chapters of the novel (the one with the better translation) and I'm LOVING it.
The character is perfect for Luo YunXi. It's one thing playing a grey character (due to nurture) in Ashes of Love, I just can't wait to see how he will level up the psycho mode as TTJ's character is definitely close to black than grey. His is a combination of nature and nurture.
I like it when author do not hold back on anti-hero character, one who is unapologetically evil and doesn't just magically turn 180* better for the FL. The process in between is what distinguishes a good writer.

However, since I do not want to read the bad translations and ended up reading spoilers, I must say I'm kinda disappointed on where the plot went. Maybe it was because I read bits and pieces of the spoilers and it's just so confusing and messy.
Up until ch36 I was really hoping it would have the twist like in the anime Kamisama Kiss, where the timeline is fixed and the present is already the result of FL transmigrating to the past. I even thought that was the reason the Demon King let go of FL when he caught her when she was a child as she reminded her of YXW.
I hope they tweak the script a bit, but pls don't hold back on TJJ brutality. LOL

100% agree. The webtoon is way better. Honestly I didn't have much expectation for this when I saw the casting, but the series is quite fun in the beginning. And then it went in a totally different direction than the webtoon and relied too much on fanservice. People still enjoy it, but I can't help but imagine what if we have better casting for the main couple (2nd couple are okay for me) and stayed true to the story.

Yes. I agree. I think they adjusted the character to fit the actors instead of the other way around. No hate to AhnHyoSeop, obviously his TaeMu is enjoyed by a lot of viewers, but I still feel a bit upset that we got robbed of the legit manhwa TaeMu.
TVN TaeMu is too comical for me, I don't know if it's because AHS just doesn't really fit the cool and cold aura. He seems to me a poor copy of ParkSeoJoon from WWWSK. It's really cringey, maybe it's the writing. Manhwa TaeMu exudes natural charisma and authority, if you take away TVN's TaeMu's wealth, he's just gonna be over the top cringey.
And quite the opposite for Sec Cha, in manhwa he's super innocent and soft. But because MinKyu has a different vibe, they made his character more charismatic and manlier.
I reckon if we should have switched the main leads.

I've watched him in Begin Again and he looks so much like a mix of HyunBin and Dongwook.
