This is the mother of all cliche dramas which surprisingly works! why is no one picking this up again for a remake?
After watching Begin Again, I can imagine GongJun and Zhou Yutong, and the kid actor Youyou would do a good remake of this.

This is my all time favorite drama, nothing has topped it yet. I think because of the subject matter (rape), Korea is somehow avoiding it. It would work if Netflix would produce it.
As for Thai adaptation, it has to be given to good producers and director. As much as I love some Thai Lakorn and adore the actors, 80% of Thai shows are cringey.

I was at ep15 and I totally forgot I was watching this.
This is an okay story, but totally forgettable. I didn't even have the motivation even til now to finish the last episode. *sigh*

Yes, this is also the first thing I noticed in LLTG. The cinematography and color grading is excellent.
And true, Immortal Samsara's CGI looks really off. I'm trying to justify in my head that it is because the stunts and scenes themselves are ambitious and no way you can perfect a CGI with that. However, even if we accept a certain level of flaw, what they delivered is really mediocre and definitely something a little bit better is achievable. I really hope the story and plot will save it. I mean TMOPB's CGI is also laughable but the story and acting carried it. At the moment, Immortal Samsara is not yet serving anything for me. I'm giving it 15 episodes to see if it will deliver.

Yes. I think it is a matter of personal taste. I know ML is supposed to be innocent and naive and we empathize with him. However, I just can't feel this way. I just see him as pathetic, useless and lame. It's true, the villain is even more interesting.

I pushed thru 22 episodes of this and nowhere did it capture my interest.
I kept trying because I like Reba, I like the angsty synopsis, I like the Director (most of my favorite Cdramas are directed by him), I am encouraged by the high reviews here. However, I don't think I will watch part 2 anymore (although I feel bad about the hours I already invested). I don't see any chemistry and I couldn't get myself to care about ML. Such a pity, I wanted to like this.
one positive note : the OST is superb!

4 episodes in, CGI does seem awkward and YanDan acting is basically still JinMi (Ashes of Love) in my eyes. Not yet hooked but will carry on.

Honest non-biased opinion as I like all the leads from both series.
I dropped WRTW as it was kinda boring for me, I couldn't get myself to care about the characters. I might pick it up again one day.
As for LLTG, actually out of all my anticipated dramas, this was at the bottom of my list -synopsis wise (Legend of Anle is first). However, this has taken me by surprise. I am hooked from the first episode, everything looks high quality. And I know this would go down as one of my most favorite dramas when even within the first 10 episodes, it had made me laugh and *ugly* cry several times (usually you need at least 12 episodes to warm up on dramas of this genre). Because they are able to flesh out individual characters properly, I do not mind the slow burn romance at all. This is because I like, care about and sympathize with the characters individually, all their moments together are just icing on cake.

I know YuanShen is 21. And Luo Yao is probably still in teens.
I assumed LBY is older among the 3.

So that gives them 9 or 10 yr age gap. I'm happy nobody here is making an issue about CSS's age. We shouldn't apply our modern rules in period dramas like this.

same, it's been years and still cannot cope with the ending of this one. Hopefully, LLTG will break our hearts but mend it towards the end. I do not want to reexperience the trauma from Scarlet Heart.haha

Just dropping by to say he never fails to impress.
I didn't know him before the Long Ballad, but I became a fan after seeing what a talented and handsome actor he is.
And now, boy he's killing it again in Love Like the Galaxy!

She's so adorable and charming. I think she's the only actress who acts cutesy who I don't find annoying and cringey. Even Dilraba (who I also adore btw), I can't stand her cute role acting. The only other tolerable actress for me (when it comes to acting cute) is Yang Zhi.
But LuSi, she's just super super cute like a little bunny, that I just want to put her in my pocket hahahaha
And not to undermine her acting skills, aside from the adorable roles she get, on serious acting mode, she also killed it in the Long Ballad. Looking forward to all her new projects.

I'm finally caught up, I finished all aired episodes within 2 days. I have a feeling this will go on my all time favorite Cdramas, it has already made me laugh and cry within the first few episodes.
After starting and dropping so many other series, this one had me instantly hooked.
True, the romance is a bit slow paced, but I personally enjoy it like this. There is character focus rather than just pushing romance to the viewers. And this started with CSS at 15 so I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a saga where we watch her mature and go thru life hardship. I can only hope they release part 2 soon to not lose momentum.

I'm still in ep1 so too early to pass judgements. And so far, here is what I can say, the cinematography, color grading, set and costume looks high quality (seems like this has a big budget). I always expect first episode of dramas like this to be awkward or cringy, but here it feels more natural.
I gotta say though, Wu Lei looks under the weather here. I still think he is in his BEST, HOTTEST AND MOST DIVINE form when he was Ashile Sun in the Long Ballad, with his half braids and long wavy hair *chef's kiss*

I feel like the makeup artist is doing DangGu and Crown Prince dirty. It is definitely Yul who looks best among the four. But it's like the makeup artist is trying hard to even out the field by glamming up Crown Prince and DangGu. The eyebrows, eyeshadows, bright pink lipstick in my opinion are too much. Pretty sure the guys look better with more of their natural looks.

I really appreciate that unlike other dramas set in historical period, the relationship between royals,aristocrats,commoners and slaves here seems more relax. The gisaeng, maidservant and even the slaves like MuDeok are able to talk and act more openly even around royals. I'm glad the social status difference does not play much into the plot.
