I have seen this while it was airing and has been also actively commenting and discussing with the other viewers in this page back then. What a ride that has been! I still see myself coming back here from time to time and thinking how topnotch this series is. It will surely always be on the top list and will stand the test of time. I wish I can forget and watch and experience all the emotions , mystery and thrill all over again!

Me too! More than any loveline I'm looking forward to Vincenzo's chemistry with the tenants. It's an unlikely match, these weird wacky tenants and the enigmatic mafia guy as their defacto leader/champion haha
the character lived there for 5 years, so it's fine if his Italian is not that great, he is not supposed to sound…
From what I gather he actually lived there since he's 8. Basically Italian is his native or like his default language, hence he switch to it whenever he gets agitated. So yeah, we can't expect JoongKi to perfect it but atleast not completely horrible as in other series.
He lernt it , I guess the dialogue he must speak sin the drama .That one os more easiera than learning the language…

Thre are so many other series where they butcher even a single line of English and hardly care about it. But in Vincenzo it seems vital for the character to have convincing dialogue skill atleast.
Genuinely very very happy for everyone who enjoyed it but unfortunately, I felt like that ending was so, so shoddy…
For me the main issue is although the writer did try to hint the souls have mixed, the narrative made it seem like that meant Bonghwan's consciousness mixed with SoYong's memory. We didn't even get a clear indicator that BongHwan's actions were influenced by SoYong. I mean Yes, he keeps blaming SoYong when he started falling for the King, but I assumed that he was just in denial that he does feel something for the King even as BongHwan. I thought this story is going for the 'soul is genderless' theme, but I guess not. A few scenes where SoYong's consciousness takes over would have done the job. Where we can clearly see that the real SoYong is also experiencing and processing everything that happened. Bottomline for me is we did not get enough material to connect to the real SoYong and identify/see her as a major part of the 'Queen' that we all loved. All this time most of us are seeing Queen = BongHwan. I wonder if this is the original ending they intended or it was changed. But it seems the Director understands the problem with the ending hence the spinoffs. With all that, I still love this series and find the casts acting brilliant!
I really enjoyed this. It was super entertaining and funny. I never truly saw it as just his personality .....…
I agree. But the director could have done a better job in making clear that the souls were merged and also make the viewers have some sort of connection to the real SoYong character. We always saw her in her depressive mode that's why it seems she's really nowhere in that body except for her memories. But they are making up for this on the spinoffs now. The King really did get attracted to BongHwan's wacky personality, but also a part of the reason he completely fell for 'the Queen' is knowing about their past (the scene at the water well with real Soyong).
currently watching the spin-off. Atleast we get to see the different side of the real SoYong (the non-depressive side) which shows she's really not that different from BongHwan. Makes the ending more acceptable.
I don’t hate the ending but I feel it is the writer and director’s fault why viewers are not satisfied. They should have made it clear that Soyong and Bonghwan’s souls have mixed and they both have equal influence on that body (not just a combination of Bonghwan’s soul and SoYong’s memory). The way the episodes flowed made it seem like the King really only fell in love with BongHwan (hence it feels like he’s been cheated in this ending). In the previous episode, they even made it clear in that scene with Byung In that there is a completely different person inside the Queen’s body. If only they inserted more scenes and made it very clear that the real SoYong is also experiencing and processing everything together with Bonghwan, then this would have been acceptable. They also made it seem that there was totally no mutual feelings between real SoYong and the King before the swap, remember the KIng is even willing to kill her in the earlier episodes. And it doesn’t help that all the flashbacks we saw of real SoYong is her being depressive, quiet and just about completely opposite of the Queen that the King started falling for. Oh well, maybe that’s the purpose of the spin off, to give viewers a chance to see the different side of the real SoYong.
