Yes, and even if I already knew, let's just say episode 31~32 really showed the lenght ZZ is willing to go to keep the boy safe, which is way it moved me (and I wanted to comment on it).
Given the story they're hint to have, I'm kinda terrified for what's to come for them both.
Just opened xiao hong shu unassuming and I'm afraid I got the most horrible spoiler ever for ep 33 goddamn let's pray it's fake or I will be in absolute shambles πππ
Also Bai Yu Tang's reactions are always the best, the way he started stomping harder on the medicinal herbs once Zhan Zhao woke up because he was mad at him really got a laughter out of me π But our Zhan Zhao did deserves that scolding, with all he kept from them while his conditions are this bad. I've lost count on how many times Bai Yu Tang managed to bring him back from the brink of death, alright π
The fact Zhan Zhao stopped killing because of Ming Zhu Er and almost started again just to protect him from harm, I'm in tears.
Genuinely never seen Zhan Zhao this scared ever, he was downright terrified about Ming Zhu Er learning the truth... He cannot bear see him hurt in any way, the boy is basically his son π
Also can't believe we're gonna be already at episode 30 tomorrow... They do have time to wrap everything properly, so let's hope they'll manage, but also I don't wanna say goodbye to this drama yet π
Bai Yu Tang blends way too well with the kids, it's so funny π
I appreciated our trio bonding moments a lot, Zhan Zhao getting Bai Yu Tang an eagle kite melt my heart a bit and I'm glad they confided in each other, with Zhan Zhao finally telling them about his past.
They are excellent. A lot more powerful than Yang Yang's.
Thank you!! I'll definitely go check out the ones I don't know to see if they match my taste. Especially for the HK TVB, I know very little about Hong Kong's dramas, so I'm curious to check those out if I manage to find them.
I'm not big into the wuxia genre (I mostly saw new dramas and read novels), but most of the drama I watched end up focusing on the romance, while I'm in for the martial arts and the character developments of the protagonist (plus the friendship, if it's done well). I do agree that China tends to whitewash a lot in term of how "bad" a character can get, especially if they're the leads, which is a shame (to not mention those characters who lives outside the system) which is a shame.
Thank you again for the insightful response, I'll definitely roam around and check your recommendations!
Nah that asswipe is alive and well. ZZ hid him somewhere. We'll see him in a few episodes.
Since we only have 10 eps to the end I would figure this is a good point for us to have Zhan Zhao cured from that original poison and maybe also get to see his backstory properly π€πΌ

Oh, I know, but I have to admit that at the beginning I got a moment where I was like "oh wait a sec he's not for real isn't he... Zhan Zhao wait think about it" (especially bc I was NOT getting his plan) but then they didn't actually show zhan zhao killing him so i knew we were fine π
It was just later I realised he put up such a spectacle bc they were planning to blame it on BYT if the uncle disappeared (and our mouse had every intention to kill him for that antidote) and now like this Linglong and Bai Yu Tang will not get implicated even if his plan fails.
I do wonder if Young Master Tang and Bai Yu Tang will end up creating another Lifelong Pills (or whatever is called) with the plant he got from the mountains as antidote, or something similar with the help of Linglon's aunt. It would be such a slap on the face for the uncle to see they were able to create an antidote without his help, that piece of shit.
i don't mind zz's principles, however there are many stops between straight up executing a perp in jianghu and…
Very good point, but also Zhan Zhao is working under Magistrate Bao (known for his fairness) and with direct order of Prince Hui and backed up by the Emperor. Fair to say that Zhan Zhao will report everything directly to the Emperor once this case is closed and the guards who came to help arrest and transportate the criminals were mobilitised under Prince Hui's command. Plus, even if those people escaped, I think they would be killed by the main villain (His Lordship, I forgot the name tbh) since they failed and their work could implicate him; so he'd kill them just to be sure. So I kinda get why Zhan Zhao "trust" those guards. Of course, something else could happen (Yue Hua sneaking in the prisons to kill, which he was almost punished for since it was under his responsability), but I think he honestly cannot do more than this as Zhan Zhao is only human at the end lmao.
But honeslty good point there, you got me thinking about it, which I enjoy ^^

I agree with everything you said, ZRN could use some work on her martial art skills, but since I still quite like her character (even if the acting sometimes it's a bit stiff) I'm giving her grace for this one.
Btw unrelated, but I remeber you from other drama's comment sections and I quite find we have somewhat similar taste; you seems to have watch lots of dramas, so I genuinely wanted to ask for recommendations about which wuxia dramas you would say it's worth giving a shot.

I do like Yang Yang's scenes as well, he's good. Tbh everyone is doing a wonderful job with the action sequences, I do honestly think the fights choreographies are one of the selling point of this drama.
But I agree that Yi Lun's fight scene are probably my favorites, since he always uses different weapons. I can see he worked very hard on those skills and it's paying off, because it's beautiful to watch.

Also may Cha Si Yeongs rots in hell ππ»
Also pls let my guy be alright, this must be only a ploy to get the uncle talking right?? Zhan Zhao better be behind those trees ready for rescue π

Also I'm ready for Young Master Tang's revenge arc im curious to see what he's gonna do now π
