fun fact, the original title does contain the characters of his name: "Hen Jun Bu Si Jiang Lou Yue" and it comes from a poem that is quite poignant, you can read about it in detail in the dicusssion above about "Picking Mulberries" by Lou Benzhong. Chen Yuzhi also says two lines from this poem to Jiang Yuelou in episode 33. it always breaks my heart but at the same time it's one of the best moments. as always, the Chinese title is much more beautiful and meaningful

the directors cut is more complete with some extra context so I don't see any reason not to watch this one. it amounts to 3 whole episodes more, as this one is 55 eps and the regular is 52 eps. the one you mentioned is the regular version since it's shorter
