1. What hooked my from the beginning was the storyline. Master disciple and then became enemies. I didn’t really know much but when I saw the trailer last year, I knew I wouldn’t miss this.
2. I came for the romance between SY and ZY. There wasn’t much but what was there was enough to make my heart giddy. And boy did my heart take a beating. I cried when they cried. I was so happy when they got married.
3. The fight scenes and effects were top notch. The background scenery was amazing. I loved the dessert, the plains, the mountain. Everything. You could really tell the time and effort they put into this. It doesn’t look cheap fake green blue screen.
4. OST - I’m still waiting for more songs to come out in Spotify. The instrumental background music when ZY dancing the first time they met. I want that. The lyrics were touching and the melody was perfect for the story.
5. Supporting characters - DSM loved SY because he loves SY’s mom. Chong Ming was the best friend / sidekick everyone needs. Ah Yuan is also the supportive companion. I didn’t feel much for his character but he’s ok. BXL at first I thoroughly disliked her but she grew on me. Qing Gang I wanted someone better for him but at least BXL became better for him. The younger siblings of ZY and SY were the most fortunate in that they new they liked it each other and wanted to be together from the beginning.
6. Xiao Zhan - this is the first drama I’ve watched of his and I shall continue to look for his other works in the future. He looks ethereal here with the white robes. Tbh, i like him so much better in costume than in modern attire. He looks more regal. He really nailed Shi Ying.
7. Ren Min - this is the first drama I’ve watched of hers and I can’t wait to see more. I knows she’s doing a costume drama so I shall be waiting for that. She is such a good actress for someone so young. She has that look. You can differentiate her from all the other actresses that start to look alike. She can make me cry whenever she starts tearing up.
I just love love love this drama. I don’t watch fantasy dramas. But this time, I’m glad I did. This will be one of my favorite dramas of all time.

I love the actress who played ZY. She did so well in this drama. I'm gonna look at all her projects in the future. She actually reminds me of another of my favorite actress, Zhou Xun. Love them both. And both amazing.
