This drama is from the same writer that wrote Amidst The Snowstorm Of Love. The characters traits and plot progression of these two dramas are very very similar. The only thing that set them apart are their career situations.
The characters personalities in both dramas are exactly the same - FL is calm with girlish demeanor, ML is quiet and broody. FL has a rich comfortable life while ML is poor and from a broken family. Both drama have FL's parent opposing their relationship. In both drama the main couple liked each other since the first episode but let their relationship progress slowly. In both drama ML have a brotherhood camaraderie around him. In both drama ML have to work extremely hard to prove his worth.
They're both good dramas though but im judging the writer for recycling her work.
Also, I don't agree with previous comments saying this drama is slow burn. They're officially together by around episode 10, thats much earlier than most cdramas out there. It only feels like a slow burn because their relationship develops so calmly, naturally, almost conflict free. And both characters aren't like the passionate expressive type so it might bore some people.
I'm only at ep 1. Spoil for me please. If they get together at ep 29, what's the rest of the episodes like? Is it like a friendship drama? Workplace drama? At what episode do they get to their adult life?
In the past life, she became the empress because her fiancé, later husband Xiao Xun became the emperor. In the…
So she became the grand princess with no attachment/obligation? What's the catch? I remember her saying she'll enter the palace in front of the dying emperor, and then everyone gasped. I thought she offered herself to get married to someone. I was weirded out thinking she married the kid haha, but then she said she's his sister and I'm so confused why she's suddenly at such high position in power
I didn't pay full attention while watching and now I'm confused at ep 4. Can someone remind me how FL became a princess(?) / empress(?) after the coup.
FL wrote a novel based on her high school crush, she's then accused of plagiarism, but the "plagiarized story" was actually written by her crush's younger sister who got inspired by the notes in her brother's old phone. She has to take some legal measures to clear her name, and her lawyer happens to be her old crush.
That's such a fresh plot!! But.... in typical cdrama fashion, it feels very draggy. So many unnecessary tropes are thrown in at the same time. I'm only at ep 9 but im already tired of watching.
How much romance do this drama have? Is it mainly focused on mystery/fantasy or are there fair share of romance as well? As someone who watch a drama just for romantic plotline, will I enjoy this?
The simpleton in me really wish this was an easy watch cute romcom. The premise is promising. A struggling actress and a multilingual man. It seems like it in the first episode but then it took a dark, complex turn. And I feel like it kept going in a circle with little to no progress until the end.
I'm confused about something. Idk if I missed some details. So in the beginning Jin Zhao's family is extremely poor, with a lot of debt, father barely sober. But in the middle of the drama, they suddenly seem to not have any issue at all. Even can afford a yacht holiday and a nice hotel stay. ???
Hi, I just started watching. Give me spoilers please. In around what episode do they stop being like brother-sister. I just finished ep 1 and this trope kinda weirded me out. How long does this last? And at what episode do they start dating or first kiss? Tq in advance.
I'm just at ep 8 but I need to come here to say this is soooo good. Very refreshing story. I don't think I ever came across a drama with this type of plot, and trust me I watched a lot of dramas. If you just started watching and think it's boring, I personally think the pace picks up in episode 4 so give it some time.
Is this worth watching if I mainly care about romance? I do like a good story but I hate when a drama only have a sprinkle of romance like they only get together at last 10 episodes type of drama

2. Is this good for someone who only cares about romance?
