I find jx giving ht all the different cards is just so sweet and funny. All the names she given to the cards are…
My interpretation of "I already forgave you long ago" is that he never needed to ask for forgiveness, her love transcends the conflicts they had so that here is no need to say I'm sorry. After that, HT never needed to use forgiveness card until at the very end of the story because....
The reason JX could not bring herself to reconcile was that she felt her relationship with him was not balanced. That's why she said, we need to start over as just HT and JX.
I found this particularly meaningful.... :)“Sometimes we're so busy developing and playing with concepts, without…
Of course, JX understood him, but did the audience picked up on his cryptic message to her? I don't think so. They just assumed he's giving a metaphor.
The drama gave a poignant display for HT to finally get through to JX rather than the incidences HT went through with JX in the novel to get her to reconcile with him. The drama elevated JX's character by leaps and bounds. She was more childish in the novel.

I have already made this point before, I will expand on it now...HT, at this point, didn't know JX needed assurance…
In the novel, chp.62, after their breakup, on New Year's Eve, XYX: Are you in love with her? HT: Define love. XYX: Isn't this simple? Want to spend a lifetime with her, willing to do so wholeheartedly? You can't do without her. It's not possible with anyone else. You just want this one woman. HT remained silent, then XYX asked HT to go for a walk with him. Just then his phone beeped with festive messages. He deleted the messages and then saw JX's profile picture, gently clicked on it, and saw rows of "Mr. Han, Mr, Han" messages mixed with cute emoticons. Suddenly, without warning, a strange pain tore through his heart, like the cracking of ice under a cold wind. (HT's heart literally broke).
Did Han Ting ever say, "I love you"? before the endings in 40 and 41? The last words in Ep. 40 were both of them saying, "I love you." His last words in the extra episode were him only saying, "Ji Xing, I love you." which I liked better because it was more meaningful that he said it, the conclusion he spoked about.

My point is he never used the word 'love' back to her. I guess you can call it a miscommunication. One person says, 'I love you', the other says, 'me too', but meant, ' I like you too'. HT takes the concept of love very seriously. People say, 'I love you' but those are just words. For HT, love is not an emotional concept but one borne out of actions.

She said, 'I love you' He said back to her "Me too" which is not the same as saying 'I love you'. To him, he likes her a lot and feel she's suitable for him otherwise he would have forgotten about her past ten years. She made a lasting impression on him, but he doesn't measure love in an instant. To him, it is not just words but actions, so he has to ask her what is it that she expects from him for her to believe that he loves her because to him, love can only be measured by actions and only at the end of a lifetime together. Two people get marry say, "I love you", end up in divorce, did they ever love each other? Two people get marry and say, 'till death do us part', but is it for love or for security because if you love someone, do you really need to say it? This concept of what is love reminds me of the movie, Love Story, the famous line "love is never having to say you are sorry". In a way, JX did that when HT said, 'will you forgive me' and she said 'I forgave you long ago' which I interpreted it as her saying he doesn't have to ask for forgiveness because she understands. That's what love does, it transcends conflicts.
Have we (ABAY) reached the 2 billions in viewership mark yet?
it's not just ABAY but the drama market is cold, and the summer Olympics is hot, as well as new dramas are airing. At least, ABAY finished airing before the Olympics got too hot.
My first complain was about the classic tropes (which is complety nonsense) where a kid is judged for something…
Someone told me that a person who has no understanding of Chinese history, language, literature and culture cannot fully grasp Chinese novels and dramas, especially the historical ones. The translations only give you a rough idea and often misleading. One can still enjoy them but cannot fully appreciate the deeper true meanings.
it was worth watching only for the performance of Li Meng, she is insanehttps://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1zT421a7wx/?spm_id_from=333.788.recommend_more_video.6
even though she's supporting role. she deserved the best actor award in this drama, and the actor who played SYR was amazing too especially since he's a newcomer. I think this drama was his debut. He deserves one of those newcomer awards.
My favourite Xinxia: *Love between fairy and demon*Back from the brink *Blue Whisper. These 3 have high production…
Go Princess Go is supposed to be chaotic. I don't see him as a director who is looking to refine his style from anyone. If anything, other directors may adapt some of his unique styles if they can reign it in a bit. This director probably has to hold himself back not to go too abstract otherwise, he may lose some audiences because at the end of day, the producers are looking to make money, not let him create his art.
