HT knew that too which is why he wanted to tell her but then he got interrupted when she got a message from Chang He and then she made some comment about how she couldn't betray him. The worried look on HT's face knowing what he has to do. He didn't expect to move on the merger so fast. He always wanted to discuss with her first. JX is too impulsive and reactionary and too emotional. This drama is not over yet. We have to wait to see how she will grow from here.

Don't worry. the drama is not over yet. I saw in almost the last chapters of the novel that HT has surgery and JX actually manages Hanhai-XingChen really well. Not sure if that will play out in the drama but it is an indication their relationship and her business savvy will improve greatly. She will become a real asset to him. She needed this period of time to reflect and HT coax her back to his company. Everyone in life goes through ups and downs, failures and successes, periods of reflection on their lives, regrets, what they did right and what they did wrong, and how to go forward. I'm hopeful the characters will show growth in the remaining episodes.

The way I interpreted that was 'me too' is not the same as 'I love you' when their definitions of love are different. When she says, 'I love you', she is referring to pure unconditional sacrificial ultimate love, when he says, 'me too', his definition of love was 'I like you' because 'love' is accumulated over time, not all at once. We find out the next time she says, 'I love you', then he did ask 'define love'.
