I always wonder if the actors select their own clothing style for modern dramas. I'm sure there is a designer assisting them too.

for me, he was always this good, I have always felt it watching his dramas. The best is still yet to come with Xu Kai. He will surprise people.

If it is not Xu Kai drama, then I would wait for proper subtitles. I can still understand most of what is going on. There may be a few lines that I get stuck on. Of course, I can still enjoy rewatching the episode later. If a person is limited on time, then they should wait. I tend to rewatch anyway. The first time is to read the subtitles, the second time is to watch the actor's expressions more closely. In ABAY, every single scene has HT and JX are superb!

The translation is driving me crazy. This is one drama, I need the right meaning. When the translation is "I don't want to play when I'm young.".. Huh? what does young mean?
Closeups are a must for this drama. Xu Kai's eyes can speak. The gentleman knows what he wants but the lady was clueless. Was he undressing her with his eyes?

HT's bet was a tease. She realized what his tease meant only after the way he looked at her. She looked so scared; HT called off his tease. But when he put the necklace on her, she felt something, and wanted him too. She couldn't resist his flirting any longer.

The novel is much more descriptive of the atmosphere they were at, there were ladies there who are paid to tend to men which is why HT asked her to go with him so these ladies will leave him alone, the mood of the evening, they couldn't resist each other flirting, and that he could give her 3.4% of the shares.

There was a line in the novel that she looked down at her chat box and wondered what was he doing at this moment, with someone else? but there is no Yichen in the novel after they broke up, until much later on in the novel. So, her one-night stand in the novel has nothing to with Yichen.

In the drama, they show that JX is putting the pieces together and realizes that HT might actually like her. I think she found him irresistible in that night. They can't make the drama like the novel, it would never pass, but the essence of the story is intact, she was at a business setting with him, dice game, the flirting, she couldn't resist him. The mood was really the same. It had nothing to do with Yichen either in the novel or the drama.

For me I see: Adorable and cute. Big bright beautiful eyes. Cutest mouth the way it curls. Cutest and most charming expressions. A smile that can light up a room. A pleasant and strong voice. A nice personality. Passion, charm and grace. Authentic. A captivating and passionate singer and actress. She's simply delightful. She has a strong on-screen presence that she fills up the scene when she comes on. Her acting is incredibly rich, natural and authentic, and balanced.

It's because the two families matched them up since they were kids, so she always felt they belong together, and HT didn't have a girlfriend and was a loner, and she was always there for him. I do think they had some good times together growing up as friends like she mentioned their times together in Germany during college years but he probably couldn't avoid her either and out of respect for grandfather, he socialized with her and later used her since she wants to help him, he partnered with her in business and she would always share business information with him, but he never had romantic feelings for her or wanted to marry her, so it became a benefits relationship between them, but she keeps hoping he'll come around. She thought she had a chance since HT is not interested in other girls. She felt threatened when she discovers he is interested in Ji Xing. After college, she wanted to remain in Germany to help him start up the R&D center, but he declined and prefer she return to China. He needed to work really hard to prove himself and so he threw himself into the project. If it's JX, he would gladly want her to stay. Also, Han Ting disapproves of her schemes. Han Ting may be ruthless and in business, people do get hurt, but he doesn't intentionally hurt people and is professional and fair. ZD is not that capable, so she uses people unfairly. HT doesn't think highly of her and doesn't like her schemes.

It's good they broke up before they got marry and end up in divorce or live unhappily ever after. stuck in an unhappy marriage. They were not meant for each other. She was too busy to notice.

HT is a realist and JX is an idealist. Over time, she will change.

basically, HT does not tell anyone everything, but JX needs him to tell her everything. I think that's basically her issue. He can separate emotions, but she cannot.

the JX in the drama is an improved version. The JX in the novel seems impetuous at times, esp. around ZD and HT.

Chp 66. This scene is super-hot, but it seems we already saw it, but nothing happened in the drama. In the drama, HT stands staring at the door regretting not going in. In the novel, Han Ting escort her to her room, and just a second before she could close the door, HT stops it and slides into the dark room and forces himself on her, but she said no, so he stopped. HT says to her, "What if I say, let's get back together?" She says her heart is not strong enough. HT says, "I won't ask it again, are you sure?"
Chp 70. HT says to JX, "I'm asking you; it's been half a year, do you still want to reconcile?"
JX gets kidnap.
Chp 72. After the kidnapping and rescue and HT got injured, HT wants to start over with JX and JX does too.
