I just had a thought. MCH is nothing like her parents. Perhaps she takes after her grandfather, the man that grandma fell in love with. The grandfather must have been outstanding person for grandma to fall for him, after her first husband cheated on her. But MCH father is below average.

I'm so glad grandma got to spend time with her grandson before she passed away, even though it was cut short. I'm sure when YZM's mother died, that grandma wanted to raise her grandson. Afterall, she knows YZM's father mistreats him. Perhaps her stepson created issues. It seems so cruel to take her only grandchild, her daughter's child far away from her and never see him again. But MCH filled her loneliness all those years.

thanks but wow he didnt see her for decades I think he said to his wife. there is something about the way he talked to grandma on his visit that I don't know why but the way he talked, he's like a common Chinese man I feel like I know him
