That's the point, she just lacks simple common sense. And you don't even need to go to school to have that. Just…
well, but you have to also understand her background too. We are who we are based on our background, experiences, education, etc. and she was just this poor peasant girl in an isolated village in rural China, so give her some slack too. Not everyone in her situation can be so outstanding. She genuinely does not understand a lot of things. She is not intentionally being mean and has no evil intentions.
I feel like the missing piece to understand CH's mother is to remember that she is poor, comes from a poor family,…
I agree with everything you say but her issues in life are compounded by her strong personality traits which is what sets people apart. Unfortunately, she doesn't' have her daughter's quiet but strong resolve.
Tbh, in most of the recent dramas with Yang zi as fml, every Ml is just there more as a support actor..So they…
I don't feel bad for XK, I think he shines in this drama. I think I may have to wait ten more episodes to understand YZM is made of. I feel the fl character her personality does not change, but the ml will change, but how, when, why, what causes him to change?
she already had in her mind who will get who, she gave house and garden property to ML and another house and Xiang'Li…
thanks, so that means MCH/family needs a place to live since their house is not livable? I think they will not move out and end up all have to live together which will make for some romance and humor. I can just hear the mother shrieking no way in hell will we move out. And as they live together, YZM learns about family and love.
she already had in her mind who will get who, she gave house and garden property to ML and another house and Xiang'Li…
MCH would not be where she is today without YZM because before YZM showed up on the scene, she said she's never had a raise in seven years. No one gave her any opportunity to get experience that YZM gave her. She is a hard work and fast learner, but she was also a micro manager. It was under YZM guidance that she learned to look at the bigger picture when dealing with people and situations, as well as how to play politics.
Watched trailers for next 4 episodes.....and I am disappointed! After everything her mother is still around ,…
we really don't' know why the ml is so persistent about the hotel. in ep. 1, Mrs. Zhang said that he owed her a gratitude of debt for saving him in his darkest moment, and if he can get the hotel for her, that would repay her debt. She also enticed him with a promotion. Since his grandma said no to him, and he still persisted sounds like he has no choice.
I'm also wondering the same thing. The way YZM and Ms Zhang sound when they're scheming, you'd think Xing'anli…
This is the problem for me is that this drama does not explain about ml personal or career. I keep having to guess.
Grandma has this hotel, Xing'anli, and a villa that has been in her family for long time, maybe a few other properties. YZM and Zhang work for The Yueda group which has taken a strategic interest in redevelopment of grandma's hotel. YZM owes a debt to Zhang for saving him, and she has asked him to influence his grandma to let him have the rights to merge the hotel with Yueda Group portfolio. Grandma would still have an ownership stake and the merger would provide the resources to redevelop the hotel. The successful merger would help Zhang get a promotion to either VP or President of some region. The she would recommend him for a promotion at HQ for his help.
There is so much mystery around the ml. What is the debt that YZM have to pay to Zhang? What happens to YZM if he cannot get the merger? Will YZM still owe Zhang? Zhang is only temporary president, and they will fly in a new president to oversee this transaction if it does not happen soon. Why is it that important? Why the urgency? Will YZM eventually lose his job with Yueda Group or have to resign? Perhaps he resigns because he ultimately sided with MCH in her fight against the merger? What leverage does Yueda Group hold over the hotel that they are so persistent? The hotel is old, losing money, and costly maintenance and repairs actually inheriting it is a nightmare. But perhaps the strategic location is what Yueda Group wants, not the hotel, so tear it down and develop from scratch. Grandma knows that only MCH can make the right decision for her because YZM is all about the bottom line.
she already had in her mind who will get who, she gave house and garden property to ML and another house and Xiang'Li…
The fl will overcome every obstacle she faces. Everything always works out for her. She was already a strong tenacious character at the beginning of the drama and will be to the end of the drama. There is no change in her personality throughout the drama. She remains the same unwavering person.
But don't forget that's just how all Chinese mothers are and actually she loves them both equally but just doesn't…
the parents love the daughter more, the brother said so to the sister, and the sister said , she felt bad about it, and the brother lovingly said, it's okay. I don't recall which scene. that's the reality, some parents have favorites and the sibling can tell.
The mother is simple minded person, not too smart, and gullible. She was set up by the bf sister, although if the mother had some common sense, she should have figured it out. The mother is such a foolish woman.
YZM has no emotional attachment to the hotel which has been in grandmother's family for generations because he has no family ties. Like grandma said to him "You don't know what family is"; therefore, YZM has no problem bringing in third party to redevelop a hotel that has been a treasure in the family. The hotel should belong to him, it is his blood line. If YZM had never came back to ask for the hotel, he would have inherited it eventually, but after he came back, he revealed to grandmother his intentions and grandmother did not agree with it, and she saw his childhood scars has never healed. YZM return was MCH good fortune as she got promoted and gained much experience under YZM guidance. Before YZM return, no one even bother to even give MCH a raise for past 7 years. It was the outing that grandma made up her mind to give the hotel to MCH. YZM is not a rich man at all. He has a good education and experience, but he has to work in a corporation.
This is a family book/drama that centers firt and foremost around the relationship between mother and daughter,…
I'm not disappointed in less screen time, if ml were only in 5 episodes, I'd be fine, I knew the drama is not about his life, I actually didn't even expect the ml to show up until much later in the drama. For such a tragic character who does play an important role in the fl's development. I would have liked to see a little depth and substance for ml character, it doesn't' have to take a lot of screen time. The current portrayal feels superficial lacking any meaningful development. Afterall, the ml is the catalyst behind everything that happens to her.
Why are there no scene of YZM emotional state about grandma death? I saw the trailer, all YZM does is stare on. It almost feels like YZM is a character that just follows MCH around. YZM life was so tragic, and his character feels like a "fill in the blank" game. I think the drama on family aspects would be better served if they leave out YZM from the plot and focus entirely on family dynamics. Surely there are better real-life situations to further highlight mother daughter conflicts than a mother who knows nothing meddling in a high-end luxury hotel. It's hard to take the mother seriously anymore.
but she's entertaining

or did she run away because she is a coward?
