XK and JT should do another drama together. In real life, they are so comfortable around each other, like bosom buddies. I think XK really adores her. From a promotional video, XK can INSTANTLY, like one glance of the board, identify JT features, correctly picking out the four pieces of her features out of over a dozen pieces of features.

JT: Hey, how can it be like this? I'm so confused. It's not like me. Who is this?
LDQ: Look at it. Look at her. It's not the piece.
XK: What? This is the truth. How can I be joking?
JT: OMG, I'm so touched! You recognized it better than myself.

I'm hopeful that Xu Kai and Esther Yu will recreate the charm of CP1 in their own charming way. These two are perfectly casted for CP6 in appearance, personality, age, and charm. They are believable as two charming teenagers. I'm hopeful these two will bring out the best in each other. In the trailer and bts, they look so lovable and adorable together, which was how CP1 was. I have faith in the actors, now it is up to the director and the producers to bring out their talent and edit it properly.

I'm a little weird but I actually like the scene when the guy slips something under the table to keep it from wobbling. It's so real-life. This drama will be very entertaining.

? don't all dramas have romance, not just Xu Kai dramas? Which Chinese drama has no romance? Xu Kai dramas are innocent and tamed when it comes to the romance. WOL was the most kissing and suggestive of any of his dramas. I consider all his dramas to be wholesome in the romance area.

I think this drama will be quite good due to this duo. For me personally, I prefer light romantic kissing and heavy on the emotions.

The director has a lot to say about the kissing scenes. In WOL, the director was demanding about the kissing and he kept telling them what to do.

You are right. Xu Kai also plays the doctor named Bian Luohuan, but why is the character not listed under cast. I was wondering why in the game; Xu Kai's character should have an eye patch? In the game playthrough #37 is called Yue Jinzhao replaced Bian Luohuan - what does that mean? Bian Luohuan wears a face mask? You can find couple of videos from last year that shows Xu Kai dressed as Bian Luohuan. Does that mean Xu Kai can showcase a funny side and a more mature serious side in this drama?
n. You should watch the video. It's very heartwarming the amount of affection of the director toward Xu Kai. Maybe that's just the way he is but it sure looked sincere. The director kept shaking his hands and even as XK needs to leave, it's like he won't' let go of his hands then he finally let go, and then someone wants them to take a picture together. Let's hope that is a good sign for the drama.

Feb 10 - 24 is Chinese New Year. 2024 is the lucky Year of the Dragon! People get 8 days off work from Feb 10 - 17. I wonder if production stops, and the actors get time off too.

yes I just realized it, i can't really find a novel to read on this. just have to wait for the drama to find out what the story is. it sounds like a fun drama to watch? perhaps the funny side of Xu Kai will show up in his character too.

Both Jing Tian and Yang Zi have said that Xu Kai is a very funny guy, so I'm not surprised. We only get a glimpse of the real Xu Kai.

Bai Jue never intended for Qing Mu to happen. It was an accident. He never intended to hurt Shanggu. She said she wanted to live a normal happy life in her next life, not as a true God, so he granted her wish by suppressing her powers and memory. But he had no idea how evil Wu Huan would become and treat Hoichi so badly. He became Boxuan and spent some happy times with Hoichi. He gave her that magical bracelet to protect herself and wait for Bai Jue to return once he was able to obtain chaos power to overcome the tribulation. Meanwhile, he thought she was living a carefree happy life and protected until he returns. He was very upset with Gu Jun that he allowed Qing Mu and Hoichi to fall in love and was not around for a while (he was out gathering wild herbs for her and also to harness the essence of Shanggu that he received when she burst into dust but why oh why didn't he let Bai Jue know this? Would it have changed his painful and long-term strategy of saving her? He was also upset at Gu Jun that he did not prevent Hoichi from 1000 yrs. exile (equiv. to 1 human yr.) and go against evil Wu Huan to let Qing Mu and Shanggu to at least spend that time together but instead she had to exile herself during that time when she could have been with Qing Mu. For Qing Mu, he knew that his time was short, and that Bai Jue will take back his body soon but for him, even if only having a day or a year to love her meant a lot. Qing Mu and Hoichi love is so tragic having to end that way.

There are just too many wonderful and emotional scenes in this drama.

But you missed the whole point of true love that will do anything to protect the one he loves. This was my first fantasy immortal drama - I knew nothing about these fantasy worlds, so it was not easy to understand at first try or second try. Because I wanted to understand the meaning of this love story, I had to watch many scenes over and over again digesting the subtitles while trying to watch the actors faces, to make sense of the plot.

ZDY doesn't' do costume dramas. ALP is the only costume drama she's ever done. Maybe they can do modern drama together. She is only 3 yrs older than XK. There would definitely be an anticipation for their pairing. ZDY is a post 90 Big Four Dan actress.

When Baijue was "cruel" to Shanggu, I felt so bad for Baijue knowing how heartbroken he was for having to do that. How can anyone be watching this movie hate Baijue? It must be viewers who skip episodes and scenes. The brilliance of Xu Kai's acting was that he could display coldness toward her, and yet throughout his portrayal, you knew he was aching inside for having to be so cruel. Did they not see the final scene after God Realm was restored in ep 47 when they parted ways, and as she walked away, the camera zoomed at Baijue, he was totally heartbroken trying to contain himself. Did they not see the anguish, guilt, regret in his face and the heavy heart the way he was heaving, sighing or breathing, trying to hold back his emotions and not to cry but yet crying silently. Then he turned to look at her from a distant and turned his head again, feeling so desperate and unsure. There were so many amazing emotional scenes but this one was gripping. Xu Kai acting in this scene was definitely on par with such a great actress as ZDY. To me, ALP is one of XK best acting because he is a visual, expressive, emotional actor. His face was perfect for all the emotions he got out of a full face. I'm glad XK is slimmer these days but I feel his face is a bit too thin these days and lost some expressions.

ALP is a beautiful, impressive, charming, emotional, touching, and memorable timeless love story. XK and ZDY convey their emotions so powerfully that one empathizes with the characters throughout the drama. Some people have mocked Xu Kai’s “plump” face, but I have a different opinion. I believe his fuller face enhanced his performance in ALP, because it showed more expression and depth of emotion. His face was perfect for this drama!

The love depicted in this movie is as deep as it gets, and it’s the most tender movie I’ve ever watched.

ZDY is an amazing actress. Xu Kai was great in it but without ZDY I'm not sure that this movie would be the same because her acting is so strong and emotional, funny and childish when it needed to me, sad and matured when it needed to be. In fact, the entire cast was perfect and added to the chemistry of their love story as well as creating their own chemistry with the ones they love. Both leads were able to display such deep emotions that made the love believable.
